I got this printer for the bargain price of £60 when I purchased a digital camera around two years ago. The printer, for that price, is a bargain. It is of solid build and simple to use, my experience was pretty much as plug-in-and-go as you can get. The quality and experience of HP as a company shows in this model, it is very much designed with the user in mind. There is the facility to plug a variety of memory cards straight into the printer, view images on the small LCD screen, and print straight away without any need to go via your computer. You can even (with the purchase of a blue-tooth adaptor), send images straight to the printer from another device for printing. The print quality is good- I would not say it's the best I've seen but it's certainly not a let down. That said I really wouldn't pick this printer if you're only planning on black-and-white text documents, you won't get value for money. The ink is expensive if purchasing the 'official' cartridges and it does tend to get through them, but you can pick up refilled catridges for around £11 online.
Good value for money!
I bought this printer about one and a half years ago. I do not remember how much I paid for it but you can now buy it online from about just 20 pounds.
So I ve been using it for more than a year now and it never let me down. I have never used it to print actual pictures but the quality of print outs is very good for an inkjet printer!
The only problem with this printer seems to be that it uses quite a lot of ink. I have now my second ink set in use and it is empty again! To be fair, I printed quite a lot with it and I think the high ink usage is common among all inkjet printers.
As I said, the quality of text and image printouts is good, I have not tested pictures taken with a digi cam.
It comes with all the necessary software which is really easy to install and also runs on vista (also on earlier versions).
The printer also has a nice coulour display and the menu is very intuitive and easy to use.
So if you do not want to spend too much money on a printer, this might be a good choice.
