Advantages: cheap, easy to use

Disadvantages: ink prices as always, no real black

I got one of these printers as part of my laptop package (an amilo L fujitsu/siemens from comet)
I had an old lexmark some years ago and wasnt to impressed with its quality or speed only good thing was its price tag.
This is a photo quality version and uses two ink cartridges so will cost you more to replace ! a little tip is to not place the photo cartridge in unitl you actually need to do photo printing as it can still use the ink if your not careful. (only downside to that is if you use up the normal cartridge to fast, you end up with one full and a half empty one) The quality of the photo print is actually not bad and i was suprised at the colour range (the extra cartridge helps). The black ouput on written documents is actually a dark grey because it doesnt have a black ink ( you need to buy a seperate black for pure written printing )
it comes with token photo paper matt and shiny, and came with the two cartridges ! always check if it has ink before the salesman tries to sell you extra !

it is an easy to install usb printer (doesnt come with usb lead) and has a control centre to help you with cleaning the heads etc and it even speaks to you to tell you its printing and when its stopped. very exciting !

I will say though that i did have to take it back as the paper wasnt feeding right and kept chewing up paper, i hope this is just a oneoff problem ! ? but they replaced it after a spotty kid looked at it and confirmed yes it did chew paper !

The speed is not blinding on its normal setting and photo is slow, but bearable. It can do upto 4800 x 1200 dpi but that would be very slow. It says it can do around 16 pages mono a minute and 10 colour but guessing quality would suffer having seen speed of a normal colour printing

This is more of a disposable option or a stop gap as its almost as cheap to replace the whole printer than it is to replace the two cartridges.
they can be picked up for around £50 now an
d lower (tesco are the dearest ive seen)
