Cheap and cheerful printing (Lexmark Z11)
Member Name: charliebrown
Advantages: dead cheap, small to fit on your desk Disadvantages: poor colour printing unless using photo paper
The Lexmark Z11 is a dinky "mini metro" printer which looks cute and takes up very little room on the table! I bought this about a year ago as it looked good, promised 1200x1200 dpi printing and only cost £70 on the internet (it can now be found for around £40 as it has been superceded by other models). I have been quite impressed with this printer - it is reasonably quiet in operation, reasonably fast for the price, and easy to set up. It's print quality is reasonable in both black and colour. In fact everything about the printer is reasonable - not the best in any field but not the worst either. There are a number of points to bear in mind. The colour print quality is much better if you use photo quality paper rather than normal paper. Printing colour on normal paper produces poor results. You need to swap the colour and black cartridges each time you want to change from colour priting to black and white printing which is a bind. Finally the cartridges are expensive, and you can't get cheaper versions like you can for Epsom printers. Summary: |
