Disadvantages: a bit big
Lexmark Z 1520
Lexmark are a company that have been designing and making printers for a while now, so firstly you know that they are great quality.
However one bad ting about them is that their ink is quite dear compared with other printer manufacturers. You can however shop around, buy cheaper ink compatibles or even refill your old cartridges if you want to save the odd quid or two.
The printer itself looks very cool and futuristic, its cool shiny white body and its black panels go well to give this printer a stylish edge against all its other competitors in the market today.
It is however quite long and does appear quite big in the flesh. I cant help thinking they could have saved a lot of space and I feel that they really could have made it smaller and more compact.
Also with this one, there's the opportunity to do a thing called direct print. This is a feature that can be seen on a lot on new printers now and it makes you able to print pictures of documents from a memory card or a camera, simply plug your memory cards into the card reader on the front right panel of this printer, and navigate what pictures you want and press print, also you can connect your camera via USB to the printer as there is a USB port in the front of it too, this is great, and even for people who don't own a pc then you could still use this printer to just print off all your pictures.
This printer even has a wi fi option, this means its got wi fi built into it, in the same way a laptop does. This means you could connect your printer to a wireless netwok in your house or office so that everyone in that network can use the printer, and use it wirelessly, so you could be upstairs on your laptop, but connected to the printer wirelessly, press print and your document will print off the printer that is downstairs.
If you don't want to use this feature then the printer can still be connected by USB, although it would seem a waste if you were to not use this fantastic feature.
One thing I like about this printer is that its paper out port is nicely hidden away inside of the printer, however something I don't like about its that its paper in part sticks out of the top and I feel they could have done this another way to save paper coming out of the top and looking stupid.
It can hold 100 sheets though, which is quite a lot and also when not holding paper it can be tucked away to make it looks nicer or just to say storage space when the printers not in use.
Print speed is reasonably fast too, it can reach nearly 30 pages per minute of black text, however with reasonable settings this is only about 25 pages a minute.
Colour prints take around 15 pages a minute and for photos its about 3 pages a minute for your good quality A4 prints, so its pretty good.
You'll be able to get one of these good looking printers for around £40. So if you want a good looking printer with quite fast speeds and good quality of print and all for a very cheap price then this one is definitely one for you, if you however need a really good print quality for things like photos then I wouldn't get this and id pay a bit extra for a printer that prints better photos.
