Advantages: Inexpensive, Great Warranty

Disadvantages: Poor Cartridge Life

I work at a computer store where we sell many Lexmark Colour inkjet printers. It is true that the cartridge life is very poor on lexmark printers and that is the biggest complaint from most users of Lexmark printers. Personnaly, I think their print quality is average when compared to say an Epson or and HP product.

Comparably the Epson 777 sells for 119 Canadian which has much better print quality and better cartridge life for only $20 more.

So after all this....Why buy a Lexmark? WARRANTY! It's lexmark's warranty that sells their printers. Lexmark (at least Lexmark Canada) offers what they call the LexExpress warranty. If there is a problem with your printer within the first year, you call their 1-800 number and they drop-ship you a new one within a few days. All you have to do is put your old printer in the box they send you and ship it back to them, prepaid 9 times out of 10.

Many people these days are actually treating printers as a disposible item. With printers as cheap as the Z32 and the Epson 777, when the cartridges run out, many now buy a new printer that comes with new cartridges for about the same prices....and it comes with another brand new one year warranty.
