The Z42 is one of the latest Lexmark printers to arrive. and is perhaps the cheapest model in its range. In the past these printers have struggled to match the quality of other such as HP, Epson or Cannon's. it is a great little printer for this amount of money. It is a pound under £100. Traditionally though, Lexmark printers have struggled to match the printing quality of other like Epson and HP and the Z42 is no exception. It managesgood printouts but are a long way from the quality of dedicated photo printers. They have only one advantage over these printers and it's price - £99 compared with more than £200 for a quality photo printer. This is a ... Read the complete review

I got this printer from an insurance claim after nagging my insurance company, and was treated to a "better" printer than I should have got as a result (I should have got a measly Z12). Blimey was I impressed. I'm a student, and am used to "making do" with manky University printers, and my old one which was pretty naff compared to this one....not to mention the 100 year old one we've got at home...this printer is a dream. Installing it was a dream, so easy with the CD, and I was most impressed with the program, which talks to you, and allows you to print in pretty much any format you like, in brochure, leaflet, or ... After years of using a laser printer, I finally decided that it was worth the "risk" buying a cheap, colour inkjet printer. After trawling through magazine recommendations, I eventually decided to buy the Lexmark Z42 from Argos. It cost me £89 (catalogue said £99, so pleasant surprise there). I got it home and set it up. Nice and easy to do. It would have been even nicer if they would have supplied the USB cable to connect it to the computer with. Anyway, with everything installed, I aligned the heads and a test page was printed. Hmm, very nice. I printed a page of my own to see how it would handle text and graphics (in black and white) at ... The Lexmark I bought wasn’t from choice. I had it in my package with Tiny. But, when I heard it was Lexmark we’d had with the computer, I was thrilled and couldn’t be more ecstatic! I had heard of Lexmark, and I knew it was one of the best around. I’d never used it, but I was almost certain it would be good, and provide me with clear and sharp prints off my work. And that’s what it did for almost 2 years. After numerous troubles with my computer and even my speakers, my printer stood tall, with no problems and absolutely no problems. The ink lasted around a year, and although it was expensive it was certainly worth it. ... Read the complete review

Everyone has different priorities when buying a printer... but its hard to see how anybody who is a home/light business user sort could go wrong with this printer... For starters its cheap to buy... mine cost me £72 but I had to shell out a fiver for a USB cable which isn't included. The quality... I thought it was so good that I decided to compare it with our University Laser printers... I printed the same clour pic in max resolution and I could not tell the difference... The quality cannot be faulted... The software... This is a BIG plus ... its one thing that few ppl ever check out when buying a printer but I compared this ... Read the complete review
