Advantages: Excellent print quality, Economical printing

Disadvantages: Expensive cartridges, even though they last forever

I got this printer from an insurance claim after nagging my insurance company, and was treated to a "better" printer than I should have got as a result (I should have got a measly Z12).

Blimey was I impressed.

I'm a student, and am used to "making do" with manky University printers, and my old one which was pretty naff compared to this one....not to mention the 100 year old one we've got at home...this printer is a dream.

Installing it was a dream, so easy with the CD, and I was most impressed with the program, which talks to you, and allows you to print in pretty much any format you like, in brochure, leaflet, or any form you like. Once you've written your document in Word, say, it's really easy to print double sided for instance, through the printer software. Yes, the american accent is rather irritating, but this really is great.

And I haven't mentioned anything about the actual printing yet!

I was amazed at the speed at which it fired paper at me. I say "fired" advisedly, because this printer does literally fire paper at you. This is its only downpoint, which is actually rather fun and amusing. The print tray isn't adequate to cope with the speed at which paper comes out, and frequently I find that papr does fall to the floor, but it's not a huge problem.

Printing in black and white is great, as I always use this printer on the least posh, ecomony setting, and it's absolutely fine for everyday use, and extremely economical with ink.

Printing in colour is even better. Using print-quality paper, printing in colour really can look just like a photograph, the quality is that good. I'm well impressed. Although it takes a while to print it's well worth it, and extremely good quality.

The cartridges are both held in the printer, which is fantastically easy, but they are rather expensive, at about 28 quid a go. They are, however,
really economical, I don't run out that often, and also the cartridges encompass the printer head which makes printing really good for years to come, as the print head is constantly replaced.

All in all, it's a big-un, and looks a bit of a beast in my little room at university, but I'm so very impressed, definitely recommended.
