The Z42 is one of the latest Lexmark printers to arrive. and is perhaps the cheapest model in its range. In the past these printers have struggled to match the quality of other such as HP, Epson or Cannon's. it is a great little printer for this amount of money. It is a pound under £100. Traditionally though, Lexmark printers have struggled to match the printing quality of other like Epson and HP and the Z42 is no exception. It managesgood printouts but are a long way from the quality of dedicated photo printers. I got this printer from an insurance claim after nagging my insurance company, and was treated to a "better" printer than I should have got as a result (I should have got a measly Z12). Blimey was I impressed. I'm a student, and am used to "making do" with manky University printers, and my old one which was pretty naff compared to this one....not to mention the 100 year old one we've got at home...this printer is a dream. After years of using a laser printer, I finally decided that it was worth the "risk" buying a cheap, colour inkjet printer. After trawling through magazine recommendations, I eventually decided to buy the Lexmark Z42 from Argos. It cost me £89 (catalogue said £99, so pleasant surprise there). I got it home and set it up. Nice and easy to do. It would have been even nicer if they would have supplied the USB cable to connect it to the computer with.
