Advantages: Meduim Speed, Cheap
Disadvantages: Ink refills are pooh!
o0o THE PRINTER o0o The Printer was launched back in late 1999 and was billed to be the top selling Ink-jet on the market. It precedes a long line of printers, currently being marketed by Lexmark. Installation of the driver takes about 5 minutes and everything you need to know is in the book that is supplied. it is also very easy to use with only two buttons, one for ON/OFF and the other for feeder. o0o PICTURES o0o The picture quality on this printer is great. You can select what quality to have, ranging from 300 dpi to 7/800 dpi. It is a colour printer, thus giving better prints. The printer prints at about 5-6 pages per minute at full quality Black and white, and at 3-4 per minute for full-blown colour pages, i.e, newsletters. o0o CARTRIDGES o0o The printer takes 12A1970 black cartridges priced at around £20.00. It also takes 15M0120 Colour cartridges priced at around £25.00. These are available from major stores such as Comet, Partners, and Argos. o0o COST OF PRINTER o0o From what I recall, it was bought for £97.99 from a Wholesalers but now it will cost between £80 and £100 from any major retailer, mainly due to the fact that it is not the most modern of printers. o0o MY EXPERIENCE o0o I have used the printer for just over a year now and it has caused me one problem, and that was that the Ink cartridges would not accept the JR Ink refills, or the Inktec ones for that matter. Over all, I have used it to print web pages, newsletters, coursework, and invitations and on thw whole, the quality has been great. Once more, the printer does not show signs of wear and tear. www.lexmark.com

- 01/05/02 This opinion was useful, and well laid out. In my opinion there needed to be just a little more detail, however what was present was excellent.
I very nearly gave this a very Useful which is testament to how well written I thought this was. |
