Advantages: Very good quality at a good price

Disadvantages: Not the best looking on the market.

I upgraded from an older HP 660C that had served me well for about 4 years. One look at the quality the Lexmark Z52 produces made me wish I had been able to do so long before.

The printer software guides you to print off a demo page of a calendar with a photograph. I did this, on basic copier paper and could not believe the quality of the output.

Text at 600x600 is clear and bold. The draft setting of 300dpi is rather more grey than black, but fine as a draft.

Speed is very good on text at the 600dpi output. If you want quality for pictures and are using the higher dpi settings, expect it to take longer, but the wait is well worthwhile.

It might not be the most stunning looking printer on the market, but I bought it to print on, not look at. The voice that tells you 'printing started' and 'printing finished' is something I could live without.

I would and have recommended this printer to friends, as a good buy at the price and for it's excellent quality output. Considering the price (I only paid £118)for the quality of output, I have to give it a5 star rating.
