Advantages: Cheap, Fabulous quality, Fast

Disadvantages: Violent paper grab!, Bad software

Bought this great printer about two months ago. Quality is fabulous, especially on maximum resolution with photo paper. Prints text very fast, faster than my laser. Interface is basically common sense. The paper is grabbed VERY violently, which means precision printing like CD jewel case labels can be tricky as it tends to skew the image by a millimeter or so - not much but enough to frustrate occasionally. But it's worth every penny of the very low price considering the quality.
All well and good...BUT...

There is a flipside. If you are running Windows ME you may encounter a whole host of problems, the least of which is that the printer software is very intrusive, by the fact that it slowed down my boot up by thirty seconds - and frequently crashed other programs. Also, I don't really want a American synthesised voice sound to tell me when the printing is done. I'm not dumb! The ink level meters tend to be fairly inaccurate, and you can encounter problems when the cartridge is blatantly still working but the software decides you need to change it.
However...
All in all a very fine printer - but I suggest you shop around before settling on a decision. HP make comparative products, but this one is by far a better bargain, and the quality is super.
(If you want any info on the printer, do email me and I'll be happy to pass on any advice you want.)
