I had not owned an Epsom printer before, my previous printer was a Lexmark, which, although I was quite happy with, the cost of replacement ink was very expensive. Epson Stylus S20 ... bought this printer to replace an Epson Photo 830 I had had for 7 years hoping for the same reliability and reasonable economy of the 830. I wish I had read some of these reviews earlier as I have experienced exactly the same problems as others. The printer had only printed 4 pages of text before I got an error message saying the black cartridge wasn t recognised and it was the Epson cartridge supplied with the printer! I replaced it with a new Epson cartridge and got the same message again after printing about a dozen sheets of A4! Epson Stylus S20 ... where to start? This printer was on offer so i thought i would purchase one in the hope i was getting a bargin. Wrong! It s so slow it s untrue, it s extremely loud and the ink cartridges run out very quickly, which in the end lead this printer not be a bargin, but a costly mistake. I have had Epson printers in the past which have always served me very well indeed, but this one is most definately one for printer heaven! When the cartridges ran out for the second time, i bought non-epson cartridges, hoping to save a bit of money, unfortunately these did not work after being told in the computer shop where i purchased them from that they should!
