Advantages: Compact and Neat, Almost Silent, Decent speed and quality
Disadvantages: May struggle with very high quality prints or photos
About 12 months ago, I was watching QVC, and they where demonstrating a printer, the said printer was the “Xerox Docuprint C11”, it was going for just over £75.00 (on special offer) and they where saying, it was the first 1,200 by 1,200 dpi resolution printer available for under £100 at the time, so I thought, “Hmm, I need a new printer and this looks a great bargain”. So I phoned up and ordered it. About a week later, my printer turned up, so I rushed to the door, grabbed the parcel, slammed the door on the delivery man, well not literary slammed the door, but you know what I mean. I ran upstairs and began to unwrap my printer. Once opened, I was highly impressed with the look of the printer and the nice neat compact size of it, so I started to install the thing, this was done very easily, just popped in the supplied CD, chose to install and that was it. The only bad point was the paper tray was pretty awkward to get on, but that’s me I suppose I have two left hands. So was the printer any good? ---------------------------- Well, yeah I would say it was a decent printer (although, I am by no means an expert on printers), it prints at a very decent speed and the text is of a decent quality, although when printing pictures, it was not of the quality expected, but hey, I only wanted it to print documents out and it does this very sufficiently. Apparently, this printer was supposedly to be a lot dearer, but a few tiny flaws in its quality of printing a picture forced the price right down, it has no problems printing simple pictures out, I think its just the photo-quality pictures it has slight problems with, but after all, you have to pay at least £120 to get a decent printer for printing high quality photo images out. The printers speed are decent as well, it will bang out 9 pages per minute in Black and White or 5 pages per minute in Colour, it also has three different levels of p
rint quality, there are Fast/Save Ink, Normal and High Quality. Another great thing I noticed about this printer, was the noise of it, well actually the lack of noise, as you know, it’s a pain trying to print something out in the early hours and waking people up, not with this printer, as it is virtually silent. I have seen varied reviews about this printer over the internet, some praise it to the hilt and some slag it down good and proper, but I myself think it’s a very reasonable printer for the home user and small office, and it would be ideal for children to print their homework out on. Features: --------- Height: 6.69” (170 mm) Width: 17.16” (436mm) Depth: 8.26” (210mm) Weight: 13.2 lb (6 kg) Print addressibility: Up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi Maximum print speed: 9 ppm in Black or 5 ppm in Colour Paper input: Main tray with the following print material capabilities: 150 sheets, 20lb 25 envelopes, 20lb Up to 90 sheets of special printing media (photo paper, etc) Banners, 18-24 lb Summary: -------- I would recommend this printer to anyone who wants to do the simple things like, print out documents, print out invitations, print simple pictures out, etc, and it is ideal for any household and small business. But if it’s a high quality photo printer you want, I would look elsewhere. It’s very easy to use (ideal for children) and very versatile. I think you’ll find it for around £80 to £100, or a bit cheaper if you really shop around.
