Advantages: A lot of printer at a budget price
Disadvantages: No on/off button
I bought a C8 printer when my old faithful Hewlett Packard gave up the ghost, I bought it via an auction on the yahoo auction site & it cost £70. I bought it not knowing anything about that particular brand the only Xerox printer I could find in the shops at the time was a C6 at £1 cheaper. I was pleasently suprised, the set up was dead easy & it was up & running within minutes. One huge advantage is the 4 seperate ink tank system which means not wasting a cartridge when 1 colour runs out. I thought there may be a problem buying new cartridges as no shops seemed to sell the machine but I needent have worried as PC World sold them. The price was £7.99 each multipled by four seemed a tad too much so I started a search on the net & found a company selling them at £3.99 each but if you bought a set of 4 the cost dropped to £14.99, much better than PC World! I have now found another company selling at £12.99 a set, even better. The print quality is very good for the price & the resolution is 1200 x 1200, the speed is also comparable with others in this price range. The only disadvantage I have found is the lack of an on/off button resulting in the printer fireing up on the start up & close down of my computer. In conclusion I am more than happy with the printer as I went out & searched for another one. Footnote: Be very wary of buying cheap cartridges for this printer, one lot I bought would not feed the ink properly, I had to keep removing the tanks & fish the piece of sponge out until it was hanging out before the ink would work!
