Belkin Mouse Trap
My dad having got this free with another purchase and having no use for it passed it round to me to see if I would like it. When I first saw it I thought that it was nothing more than a mouse carrier bag as that is what it looks like, a little zip up pocket, essentially, somewhere to store your mouse while in transit. However, it is more than just that.
The mouse trap is a carrier and a mouse mat combined. I could imagine it might come in handy for people who use their laptop out and about and need a portable mouse mat. However, it has been a long time since I have had anything other than an optical mouse. To turn this pouch into a mat all you do is unzip it fully then smooth it out and you get a round mouse mat.
The mouse trap is an ok size and it would hold the majority of average sized mouse with or without the cable.
I have this in a grey and orange colour, which isn't quite to my personal tastes. I think it is a rather unusual combination. The grey is the outer casings colour and the orange is the inner side and used as the mouse mat.
I had a quick search around and you can buy this for £2.99 from online stores such as Amazon. If you would use this item then the price really isn't that much. Also because this is a Belkin product it is well made and it will last. I own quite a few items from Belkin and have usually been more than happy with the quality of the products, this one is no exception.
I found this hard to rate, on one hand it does its job well as a both a holder and substitute mouse mat. However, on the other hand I think that this is a pretty useless tool and I very rarely if ever use it. Having an optical mouse means that it can work on any surface and I don't really feel like I require a separate pouch to carry it in, I just put it in beside my laptop for storage. This mouse trap would just be one more thing to carry around. Therefore, I am going to give this an average three out of five stars. It would get a two from me personally because I feel like it is surplus to requirement, but if you do have a use for it then it is a well built and a functional piece of kit so would get a four of five star rating.
Carry a mouse and other small items on the go.
Open and use as a portable mouse pad keeps your computer secure and protected from scratching;
It's soft and flexible, and won't slip on most surfaces;
Snap it on to your bag and you're ready to go.
