Advantages: none
Disadvantages: they are only in it for the money
Do you really want to hear a story about AXA.
Well, if you're sitting comfortably, I'll begin.
Saturday 15th July 2006, Harefield Hall Hotel, Pateley Bridge, Harrogate. the Hotel leased jointly by Myself and my Wife.
&.30 a.m. small fire in kitchen. Fire brigade called. FIve hours later, big fire finally extinguished by 8 engines.
Put in claim to minsurance company, a collaboration between AXA UK plc (64.6%) and Primary Brokers of Dublin, via Bermuda.
Loss adjusters appointed, then changed.
After 5 months with little further contact, wrote to CEO AXA.
Started investigation.
On 23rd December 2006, letter from AXA informing us that the policy was going to be voided due to lack of compliance with warranties.
Apparently, we should have complied with a number of warranties in the policy document from the outset of cover.
Now this sounds fine until you hear that we took out the insurance policy in March 2006, but did not receive any schedules until late in May 2006.
But we were deemed to have complied with the warranties from Day One of the insurance, even though we had no knowledge of them.
AXA and Primary grudgingly agreed to a meeting in March 2007, told us they always produced documentation within 14 days of inception, sent us some obviously falsified papers and invited us to sue them.
The claim is comfortably in excess of £500,000 plus Business Interruption.
It will cost over £100,000 to take them to court.
Anyone out there in a similar situation and prepared to help.
Summary: beware of anything to do with AXA

- 17/10/08 Please pardon my French, but I felt I must comment on this issue. I visited HHH for my 30th birthday in 2005 with about 15 friends. They let us have a party to remember. I am also familar with AXA - they left me stranded on the other side of the world after their call-centre bod lied to me. I'm now sueing them uder the data protection act for destroying data. They're a slimey, cut-throat bunch of lying con-artists who will do and say ANYTHING to avoid paying out. AXA are CUNTS. |
