Churchill Insurance

Before buying a car I had quite a few quotes from different companies. Churchill were the cheapest by far, and after finally deciding on a car I emailed churchill asking about setting up a monthly direct debit. I explained that I couldnt have a direct debit from my account because it was an under 18's account at the time and they emailed back saying I could set up the insurance from a third party account. I then bought the car and came home to insure it so I could collect it the next day. During a recent hunt for a new car insurance I decided to ring Churchill. Their TV ads promised a lot and sounded really good and they had an 0800 number so what did i have to lose? The person i talkied ot was very nice and eager to help. He took all the relevant details about the vehicle and my partner who owns it. Then he started asking for my detail. It all went OK until he reached the question on occupation and I replied "research student". At that point he informed me that I could not be insured by Churchill because they do not insure students. We always insure our cars with Churchill insurance. In the beginning, I think we got with them through a broker, but as their service has always been first class we have always renewed with them every time. Their customer service staff are always helpful, curteous and get your queries sorted out with the minimum of fuss. We are able to pay our insurance through direct debit which is extremely useful as the cost is split up over 10 months.
