Direct Line are a company I have used for years and years. I always shop around when a renewal arrives, to make sure I get the best deal available.

Between car insurance, house insurance and holiday insurance I must have had around 10 different policies with themn over the years.

In terms of the quotes recieved, they are always competitive and very often the best I have been able to get. They made their mark by setting up telephone insurance a few years back and most big companies caught up with them and offered a similar service.

I have used their internet site to arrange my car insurance and this is really easy to do. You answer a few questions click throough four or five pages and you get a quote. You can save it and come back later. You can revise it and look at different options, eg different excess levels and see how this effects the price.

I have made claims on both household contents and car insurance and have been genuinely impressed by the service I recieved. I usually take out the legal assistance insurance, and had to use it this year, and I would also storngly recommend this option.

I still check renewal premiums but have actually started to use direct line in preference to others if there is only a relatively small price differential.

Summary:
