Christmas Shopping Websites in general
Advantages: Saves all the parking charges
Disadvantages: Cannot handle items before you purchase
The wonders of the internet!
Being mostly stuck at home I find I do all my shopping on the interent - both food, gifts and clothes.
My main websites for Christmas gifts are:
No you cannot buy from it but I log in every day to see what money saving bargains have been posted in the 'grabbit' thread of the forum.
this way I pick up items at amazing prices throguh the year - I have just today received a book adn talking dog form the Hallmark website - should have been £20 but reduced to £10 then I had a code for £10 off a £20 spend so worked out at only £5.
I would definitely recommend Martin Lewises site above all others as it is form there that I get re-directed to bargains. When I tell my friends of the stuff I have picked up at rock bottom prices they then say theyw ill look - but with the bargains you have to grab them immediately or they are sold out.
Last year I picked up piles of Landsend scarves for a pound or two each when the full price would have been about £35.
I find this site invaluable for buying any sort of books, DVDs handbags etc - plus other items such as torches and other novelties.
The service is generally very quick and good, and I can use any vouchers I have on it.
Prices do vary from day to day - so its worth keeping an eye on the selling price - you can gte real bagrans sometimes - but the price will then shoot up withing minutes.
Also good for getting any second hand games or books too.
My best bargain was a Suzi Smith handbag down from £45 to £8 - then the price went straight back up!
This ia my first ports of call for most things as they tend to stock almost everything.
I also find it good for getting rid of some bits and pieces so I can therefore effectively shop for gifts for free. Anthing I sell I just keep the moeny in my Paypal account and then use it for my future purchases.
My sister had trawled all around Cardiff looking for a wooden back-scratcher for someone - bingo - I got it in a few minutes on Ebay.
You can buy loads of items on the Tesco Direct website (electrical items etc) but I tend to mostly just do the food shopping - however at Christmas you can buy cards, wrapping paper and lights as well as gift boxes of toiletries such as Lynx and boxes of chocolates and these are then delivered free with the groceries (though you do pay to have the groceries delivered of course).
I love the items that Past Times sell but find them a bit expensive so wait for the sales or when they have free postage. They do lovely Christmas decorations and novelty items, plus super books.
This year I got a bargain of Bagpuss items - mug and cuddly toy - which are now still for sale but more expensive.
I always used to love visiting their shops but now shop with their website.
I have bought loads of little funny gifts from them - and if you keep an eye out they do special offers such as 4 for £10 etc and sometimes free postage.
They have all sort of weird and wonderful items just right for stocking gifts.
I had a snoring monkey last year which someone loved better than the main present they were given.
Not one I have used that much really but it does sometimes have good deals on DVDs or games which the boys appreciate.
They sell lovely items but again a bit expensive so I tend to buy in the sales. They so lovely novelty items for Christmas time - I had a super reindeer and a tin in the shape of a Christmas tree.
Not what you immediately associate with Christmas gifts but they do a good and reasonably priced selection of cards and wrapping paper. They also sell decorations plus lots of little gifts that are often on 3 for 2. You also sometimes get free delivery as well.
With internet shopping it pays to stick to reputable sites you know and also to watch the postage - as it can be quite expensive if you only buy a few items.
Personally I do most of my Chrostmas shopping when they have sales and also if I can get free delivery it is a bonus.
Summary: A stress free way to shop
