At this present moment in time im studying a city & guilds course in digital photography, ever since I was old enough to use a camera ive loved taking pictures, but like it even more now everything has gone digital. it makes everything so much easier!! The college course isn't so easy though. Before I started the course I thought photography would be simple, what more could there be than to aim and shoot, ha ha, little did I know, it isnt the camera that does the work. I was sat in my 1st lesson havin the words aperture and f.stop thrown about, I started to wonder what I was letting myself in for. But if you pay the right amount of attention, things slowly start to make sense. theres a lot to learn though believe it or not. Digital photography has many advantages, like:- - the cost of printing your images, -the chance to be able to view the images before printing, -the ease of printing, the ability to edit your images using computer software, I could sit here all day listing the advantages as there are so many. -the ability to change the iso settings for every shot -digital images are a lot easier to store -can have unlimited copies of the original shot and so the list goes on. there are also a few disadvantages that come with digital photography, like -the price of the camera's -they require greater battery consumption -theres more risk of equipment failure (flash cards crashing etc) -its a lot harder to learn the ins and outs of digital A you will see I have not listed all advantages and disadvantages, just a few to give you an idea of what comes with the digital territory!
Digital photography is the best thing that happened to us since the invention of pin hole camera! I am gonna share how its a part of my life. Having a digital camera has made things so easier for me! Its really what they call "point and shoot"! Just pick it up and a good picture is a click away. Didn't like the picture? No worries, delete and take another! I am not a graphic pro so I don't do hardcore modification in the daily life photos. I use ACDSee to play with the levels and colors, cropping and resizing. All these software have made things so easy, you don't need to be a pro. Then I go to Flickr almost daily! the pictures from all over the world and of almost anything one can imagine, are so entertaining to look at! I have Firefox and I can't live without it. I have installed this add-on called cooliris. It has made searching so easier! You can literally glide over all the photos and select the one you want to. That reminds me, like everything else, Google has a part to play here as well by bringing Google images to us.
Digital photography is the best thing to happen in the world of photography. I know professional photographers might disagree with me. I know serious photographers feel that the picture quality is not as good as a film version. For amateur photographer like myself, digital photography makes taking photo easy and it saves money too. Gone are the days of duff photographs that have to be ditched after paying for the prints. Now I can take as many shots and choose the ones that look good enough to show the world. Digital photography makes taking photo fun. It involves the person taking the photo and the person whose photo is being taken. If a photo taken is not acceptable, the decision to ditch it is always unanimous. There are features in digital camera that cater for different condition such as daylight, night, indoor and outdoor. These feature can be applied and it help enhanced the picture quality and these feature make taking photo seems easy. You can even create a panorama picture with a few clicks. I do realised that there is more to photography than just clicks. The digital camera nowadays have functions that even the professionals are using it. My wedding photographs are taken with a digital camera by a professional photographer. He not only touch up the photos making them look almost flawless, he uploaded all the pictures on to a dvd making it easy to store and view. Digital photography is here to stay. I look forward to more features and more advancement in the digital camera technology.
