What is Dooyoo?

Dooyoo.co.uk is very similar in comparison to Ciao in my ways; however, it is the leading competitor in the market of consumer reviewing websites. Dooyoo has taken a very high rating in the consumer review market since problems with Ciao a few years ago and the fact that it actually rewards higher for product reviews and ratings. Many users are usually registered with both sites although Dooyoo does still have a loyal few who have left Ciao and not returned.

How to Join
----------------------
Joining Dooyoo is simple and most importantly Free, the whole process of joining takes about 5 minutes. To register simply click on the Free Membership / Join Dooyoo link found in the left hand column of the Dooyoo.co.uk homepage. Complete the required fields about your personal information and ensure your read the terms and conditions, when you have done that tick the relevant box and click send. You will then be sent a confirmation email, which you need to open and read as it contains an activation link. Click the activation link in your email and you have then fully registered and activated your Dooyoo account. Welcome to Dooyoo.

Writing Reviews.

Writing a review with Dooyoo.co.uk is very straight-forward and like its competitor you need to be as detailed and informative in the product you are reviewing as possible as well as insuring you give your opinion and the reasons for your opinion as well. Be sure to give your review good presentation and good grammar, as this will also help you to achieve good ratings on your reviews.

Rewards.
-------------------
The reward system used by Dooyoo is a system called Dooyoo miles, these are rewarded for writing reviews and the ratings received on that review. The Dooyoo miles can then be exchanged for cash, Amazon vouchers or donated to your favourite charity, the choice is yours. The calculation of this is quite straightforward, 1000 Dooyoo miles is equivalent to £1. You will need to have a minimum of 10000 miles to be able to cash this in for an Amazon voucher and 50000 miles to be able to request cash. You must be over the age of 18 years of age to be eligible to receive Dooyoo miles.

Crowns.
-----------------
Crowns are rewards for exceptional reviews and members are able to nominate reviews they have read and rated for Crowns if they feel they are of exceptional standard. Although you may nominate a review for a crown, it does not mean that the review will automatically receive a crown. Crowns are awarded solely by the Dooyoo team on the amount of nominations they receive not just, because they have received a nomination. If you are lucky enough to earn a crown on your review, you will automatically receive a bonus 1500 Dooyoo miles.

Rating Reviews.

When rating a review, it is important to take in to account the quality of the review and amount of information given in that review. Reviews must be based on personal opinions and should be as detailed as possible to aid consumers with there purchasing opinions. The rating system on Dooyoo allows you a choice of Very Useful, Useful, Somewhat Useful or Not Useful. Reviews, which are rated Not Useful in majority, will be listed at the bottom and deleted after a period of time. Each time a Dooyoo member reads and rates your reviews, you will receive 30 Dooyoo miles, and there is no upper limit. Crowned reviews on Dooyoo you will be rewarded with 1500 Dooyoo miles and this is known as a Premier review.

Circle of Friends.

This is a very similar system to Ciao and allows you to add members who you have learnt to trust to your circle of friendship, members can also add you to there circle of friends when they feel you have earned that right, this is not a system that just because you have added somebody to your circle of friends that they are obliged to return this as it is something that needs to be earned.

Account Settings.
---------------------------------
This section allows you to access and edit your account details should you wish to, you could also upload an image to your account to allow other members of Dooyoo to see what you look like of you so wish. This is also the area that allows you to alter your email alerts and add some text to your user profile in the about me section. These are all accessible from your account overview page from the links on the right hand side of the orange top bar and are symbolic by a page with a tick, an envelope, a dollar sign and a dot with four arrows pointing to it.

Product Suggestions.

If you cannot find a product on Dooyoo, which you wish to review, you are able to make a product suggestion. When you suggest a product, you will need to supply a valid URL link to the product as well as a valid URL link to the product image. Products suggested should always be listed under the correct category so be sure to make your category selection carefully as this will prevent incorrect listing as well as duplicate product listings. When you suggest a product to Dooyoo you will be told the number in the queue that you product suggestion is in with the Dooyoo suggestions department.

Account Page.

This is your profile page, which allows you to view all the details of your account including your reviews written, the ratings received for your reviews, comments on your reviews, your Dooyoo miles earned, the number of comments you have made and the number of reviews you have rated. There are side links in the grey bar on this page, which allows you to view any comment you have made on reviews, you circle of friends, you reviews, your overview and any product suggestions you have made.

My Opinion.

I have tried to be as detailed as possible in the review I have written about Dooyoo with as many relevant details as possible but I may have missed a few details, I have tried to cover the most important topics as I hope this review may help members who are quite new to this site.

I personally enjoy writing reviews on this site as I feel it offers higher rewards than its competitor Ciao does. The earning potential on this site are much better, easier, and quicker to achieve with Dooyoo. I also feel that the rating system on Dooyoo is easier due to the choices given and think it is good and better as there are no Community points system here just Dooyoo miles which you earn from.

Requesting a payment from Dooyoo is easy and straightforward as well and having already requested payments via the Amazon.co.uk voucher system I was very surprised at how fast the vouchers were processed. Sadly, I think there is a slight downside in the fact that they only allow you a minimum time to register that voucher on Amazon and I feel that this time scale should be extended a little.

I think it is a good system on Dooyoo as you do have more chance to voice your opinions; however sadly there are some members who choose to take this too far with unfair ratings and abusive or aggressive comments. You can report these matters if you feel that the comments are offence or abusive to you and then Dooyoo will look at the reported matter and make a decision on the reported matter.

In my opinion, it is good to have members rating your review honestly but I also find it very helpful if a member comments on why they have rated the review that way as this can allow me to look at that review again and edit it accordingly.

Honestly is definitely the name of the game on Dooyoo and I hope that I have always shown in all my ratings to be honest as to how useful I find that review. I do not agree with revenge ratings in any way as in my opinion it a childish and unnecessary. It does not achieve anything and is pointless and I have to be honest I do not understand why members of Dooyoo choose to abuse the system in this way.

It is very important to me that everybody is given an opinion and had a right to that opinion and members who cannot accept criticism and being corrected should be aware that this is probably not the site for you.

I have to say that I was very grateful for all the help and advice I received from the Guides on this site as it really did help me understand the site much quicker. I feel Dooyoo offers a great advice clinic that is able to give you a full and detailed insight into how to get on Dooyoo. It answered all the questions I had and think that all new members should take the time to read this section before they begin reviewing and rating on the site.

I have been on Dooyoo now for about two months now and have managed to make many friends, much of who also write on Ciao and most of who go under the same username, which can be helpful, as well as it makes them easier to recognise.

I do find it a shame that Dooyoo does not offer a guestbook feature as it does make it a little difficult to keep in touch with your friends but I must confess that does have its ups as well as its downside. I like the fact that Dooyoo does delete not useful reviews on there site as it does eliminate the bad reviews and help keep the site offering good and helpful advice to consumers.

To me there is a good side and a bad side to the fact that non members of Dooyoo can read you reviews and this is because if your reviews are read by more than just Dooyoo members is help the consumers on a wider scale with there purchasing decisions, but it is a pity you can not get any earnings for the non members reads in some way.

Another thing I have to say that drives me mad on both Dooyoo and Ciao is when members choose to copy there reviews from other people and other review site and I do not understand why they have to cheat. I know it is all to do with them trying to pass them off as there own just to earn money , but when will they realise that they usually get caught out and this can have a great impact on members reading there future reviews. I think everybody should try to be as detailed as possible in all there reviews and always try to give a detailed opinion from there experiences on that product as well as a good detailed review is much more helpful to consumers and will receive the ratings it deserves.

I think it is a very fair system that Dooyoo offers with regards to there premier review / crown system and although I have only been a member for two months on the site I have been lucky enough to be awarded with eight crowns which when you think I have only written 52 reviews I think very good and I am pleased with this. I obviously hope to achieve more but on saying that I am aware that my reviews do need some adjusting on times, but then again nobody is perfect and wouldn't it be a perfect world if we were all perfect.

Another feature I feel is missing from Dooyoo.co.uk is the fact that it does not allow you the option to upload images which are relevant to your reviews as sometimes this option can help to show you reasoning behind your opinion, but on saying that it does stop the feature from being abused in any way.
