Advantages: Addictive fun site
Disadvantages: Time consuming
Dooyoo is one of those sites that has a habit of getting you addicted especially as you watch the number of miles your review has earned whch then transfers to actual money all be it you will never be rich from spending time at Dooyoo but with the chace to either recieve cash or Amazon vouchers it does give you the chance to earn a little bit extra every now and again.
How Dooyoo works is that members write reviews, then other members will read and rate these depending upon how useful they found the review. Irrespective of the rating the review gets each read is worth 30 Dooyoo miles which equates to 3p per read. Extra miles can be earned if the review is awarded a crown by Dooyoo and this earns an extra 1,500 miles (£1.50) and is a sort of quality mark to show a good review. Crowns are awarded in part based upon member nominations and the influence of a group of members called guides who are responsible for particular categories although I'm not totally clear on what else they do but I'm sure one will say something in the comments section.
Once you have reached 10,000 miles you have the option to cash out and receive an Amazon voucher, these are sent to you by e-mail and normally only take a few days to arrive. Alternatively you can continue to save your miles to get a bigger payout, if you want cash then to get £50 you need 55,000 miles with 5,000 going on admin however for £100 you need 100,000 miles with no admin charge and the payout is sent by cheque. It is a shame that there is not much choice as it would be nice to be able to get vouchers for other sites or retailers likeTesco or Play.com.
The site itself is pretty easy to navigate and loads pretty quickly, it does have a few annoying adverts that act like pop-ups but you can use software to stop these and at the end of the day the advertising helps support the site so you can't really complain. The only really bad thing about the site that most members complain about is the search engine which is not the most efficient and can be a bit temperamental at times making finding things difficult and slow.
Overall this is a good site which can become addictive. The important thing as a member is to read and rate other reviews to get reads in return and to write reviews to the best of your ability.
Oh and following the advice of another member who wrote on this topic a suggestive title never hurt anyone.
Summary: Review writing site.

- 07/11/06 Some good points made. I agree that it's a time-consuming site, I've had to cut down a lot recently. :-) |

- 31/10/06 I completely forgot about the Amazon voucher option! And so alot of miles expired and I thought I'd never get 55000 miles--thank you, I'll be getting vouchers now! hehe! |
