Advantages: Huge cataogue of items with reviews written from personal experience.

Disadvantages: Some reviews are not informative.

Dooyoo.
You all know what Dooyoo is because you are managing to read this. (I hope). I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am.

This is my experience.

I visited here after hearing my son raving about it a few years ago and doing nothing about it then.

A few months ago I stumbled on it again. I don't actually remember how. I imagine I was looking for something and got directed to Dooyoo. The front page invited me to join in 2 minutes and I did! It really did take two minutes, I found the application easy to complete and the response accepting it even quicker.

I find the site easy to navigate and the layout is clear and simple.

I took the 'guided tour' which was helpful but it was a while later before I realised that some of the things I needed to know were not included. Such as what I didn't get rewarded for. Did you know that all the archive reviews are not only not given the 50p per review, they don't even get the 1.5p per read from community members. I thought the Dooyoo miles counter on my page had gone wrong the other day when I wrote a review of Christmas stockings. That information is on the info' pages but you have to dig for it.

The guide also says that "Members get rewarded for quality reviewing." this is not entirely true. Members do get rewarded but sometimes 'quality' is not a factor. Not unless the meaning of the word has been changed and nobody told me! One reviewer who joined yesterday stated that she was almost at the level to claim her cheque. She is being rewarded for quantity not quality.

I have made three claims for £50.00 since I started. The application to redeeem Dooyoo miles is straightforward and the cheques have arrived promptly. It is also possible to redeem the points for Amazon vouchers or donate them to charity.

~~~Range of goods.~~~
The range is quite phenomenal. With more diversity everyday. It is very simple to find reviews of what you are interested in by typing in the product in the search bar on the top right hand of the page. Reviews come up, plus price comparisons and sites that the products can be purchased from. It is a very simple process.
Anything can be reviewed it seems, except prescribed medicines. (I'm sure there are other things that can't be reviewed but as there isn't a list that I've seen, I don't know what they are.)
Members can put forward suggestions if what they want to review is not currently available. All of my suggestions have been approved within ten days.
~~~The community pages.~~~
I like the community pages where members can read who has been awarded crowns, what this months competitions are and sometimes a 'chat' with a community member. They are not updated daily which is a pain sometimes.

I have a lot of ideas about what would improve the site but I am saving them for another review. Watch this space.

Summary: A great site for advice on what you are intending to buy.
