Advantages: excellent way to make money

Disadvantages: cheques and crowns

Well I've now been here for 5 whole months, and my feelings towards this site have gone up and down in that time, up to reaching a plateau right about now. This is my 500th review, which puts me well into the top 40 most prolific writers ever on this site. At this mammoth juncture I can't help but wonder why it is such a rarity to write this much, as I have personally found it such an easy, rewarding experience.

This category is all about what we think of Dooyoo, so I will refrain from tips about how to write efficient and effective reviews, and tell you what I think of this site.

First up, I LOVE the way there are so many things you can write about, and when you find something that isn't on here, you can recommend it and get it on here. There's something so refreshing about being able to think about pretty much any film I've ever seen, and being able to write about it. I find the book category to be less successful in that regard, but maybe that just shows I've been reading too much oddity. My only niggle would be for Dooyoo to sort out the time it takes for a suggestion to be accepted - anywhere from 2 hours to 2 weeks in my own experience.

Secondly, the pay. I have found myself in the comfortable position of being able to write what I consider to be a very useful review in around 10 minutes. At an average of 85p per review, that's £5 an hour approximately. Although I earn twice that in my current job, I find it an acceptable rate to write for, considering I can write whenever I want. For example, my wife went out to prepare pudding the other night, and I jumped on and did a quick review. There is nothing so fitting time-wise as review writing, so that makes up for the hourly rate. I know a lot of you hate the idea of working out an hourly rate, but I did it just for the fun of it, and was pleasantly surprised.

Thirdly, the community. I have to say that, at first, the community on here drove me nuts, particularly one or two aggravating guides. Nevertheless, I have proven I am here to stay, and those detractors simply ignore me now (and I them). That leaves me with a nice circle of people who read my reviews and vice versa, and the best have risen to the top, with some great people regularly reading my work.

Fourthly, the crown system. This remains very aggravating to me, particularly as I have written a review that I just KNOW in my heart deserves a crown (read it here:http://members.dooyoo.co.uk/other-insurance/d ept-help-in-general/1205360/) and the lack of one (despite noms 3 weeks running) really makes me question the whole system. Dooyoo - please work harder to reward great reviews.

Fifthly, payment. I am happy to say that Dooyoo do pay, although the spped of payment differs. I've waited anywhere from 2 weeks to almost 2 months, but the cheques do arrive which is the main thing. Cheques themselves are getting more and more obsolete in today's computer society, and I would like to see Dooyoo make transfers straight to bank accounts much like Ciao.

In conclusion, I find Dooyoo a brilliant site to write for, with just a couple of ways to make it even better.

Summary: dooyoo? I do

It has to be said that you are one of the few people on here who show that you can 'churn' (used in the positive way in your case) and right good stuff.
As to the crown the problem is that because you dont rate back much you probably miss out on a lot of people reading who would nominate, the more you get the more likely you are to get one I think.
Along the same lines as your comment below I dont read yours because you dont read back and as I only have so much time online I will concentrate on people who read mine and film reviews from new people. It is impossible to do everything as you say. That is the main reason I post every other day, gives me a day to read and rate back :o)

Congratulations on your 500th... it is an amazing achievement!

I can't physically return every rate I get - it would take something like 3 hous a day which I don't have :(

Congrats on reaching 500 reviews! With regards to the crown, it is frustrating when you feel that a review should get a crown but doesn't but don't let that put you off writing good reviews.

Don't take this the wrong way but I have noticed that you never seem to return rate either, but as I'm still reading your reviews regardless, it does show that your writing is interesting! (I tend to ignore most non-rating writers.)
