Advantages: amazon vouchers!

Disadvantages: revenge raters cause ufair scoring

I first joined dooyoo about a week ago, after hearing someone else rave about it, and how they had brought stuff off Amazon just for writing a few reviews. When I first joined my reviews were rubbish (honestly, I reviewed the wrong thing for one of them!) but now they have got a bit better (I hope!) So far I've found dooyoo ok. Its easy to use and navigate your was around, and the rewards are good. The only criticism I would have is that I don't feel able to express my actual opinion on the usefulness of people's reviews accurately. I have only been a member for about 10 mins and I had 3 people email and ask why I had marked their review as 'somewhat useful' and not 'very useful'. There seems to be a bit of a culture of I'll mark yours up if you mark mine up. And then there is the revenge rating, where I mark someone down and they then do it back in revenge. I think Dooyoo need to find a way of stopping this, as I isn't a fair reflection.

Summary: needs a few improvements

Just be honest. Remember, how you rate a review makes no difference to the points it earns. If a review only deserves SU, don't let anyone try and bully you into changing your rating. If they do then they should be reported to Dooyoo for abuse.

However, it may be that you rated VU a review that has been plagiarised. There might be a genuine reason for the enquiry.

i know how they could change it, maybe make it so that you know what you got and you know who has rated one of your reviews, but dont give specifics. i.e say 'john smith' rated one of your reviews. and someone rated one of you reviews 'not useful'. but don't give the specifics. so many people rate each thing that they wouldn't need to say 'john smith rated this unuseful'.

and the 'devil in me', i don't understand your comment!! although i'm prob just having a blonde moment! sorry!

There are 'rules' for the rating system - so yeah, agree you're free to rate as you find the review, but not downrate if you don't agree, etc. Any ideas *how* Dooyoo could implement anything like this?
