I am loving Doo Yoo !!!

This review isn't going to be one complaining about an influx of new members ( we were all that once), moaning about 'revenge ratings' or any of the usual complaints we often get on these threads.

This is a personal review about my Doo Yoo experience, and the worries I have for my sanity after reading through some of my reviews!!

What Doo I think of Doo Yoo ?

Firstly I am really enjoying reading some good reviews about all sorts of interesting things. I have found websites I've never heard off, recommendations for books and films I've often wondered about, found new products that I want to try and I've been generally impressed by the high standard of the writing of so many of the members on here. Who needs a book to read when there are so many interesting, well written and often humerous reviews on here - I am fastly becoming rather addicted to the site!!

Secondly I am enjoying attempting to add my contribution to the reviews. It is great to be able to put pen to virtual paper and vent your spleen against something you hated or loved - very theroputical!!

Thirdly, I like the idea that I will also gain financially from this eventually if I write enough decent reviews!!!!!!

What I am wondering though after looking through my own reviews is just what a phycologist would make of me by reading my reviews!!

Basically I seem to write on five subjects - most of them inter related -

Healthy eating/diet
Pubs
Food and drink
Travel
Books

So what would the experts think?

Healthy eating/diet

Firstly I wrote a review on Weight Watchers - anyone reading that could see that I have struggled for nearly 40 years with weight loss - so where am I going wrong?
My reviews on food all look into the nutritional value - a phycological profiler might say --"Here we have a stick insect, obsessed with healthy eating" - just one moment while I put this butter laden piece of toast in my mouth and undo the top button of my jeans !!!

Oh yes I know what to do, I know what to eat, I create low fat healthy recipes, I share my advise ---- then I pass a chip shop or rather I don't pass it !!

But I do enjoy writing these reviews and reading other peoples on similiar subjects - perhaps one day Doo Yoo reviews will help me reach a happy weight for me - who knows - Doo Yoo??

Pubs
Easy to see what a phycologist would think here, as I methodically sample all my local hostilleries in an attempt to give out honest reviews about their facilities, service and -- what's that...., oh yes....FOOD !!!
I think I can see a pattern emerging here - I really do seem to have rather an unhealthy leaning towards food related subjects don't I ..Doo Yoo ?

Food and Drink
Need I go any further - is my life one long cycle of cooking, eating, drinking - oh and writing reviews about it along the way??

I am though REALLY interested in food, ever since I was a small child I have been interested in cooking it, researching into it, shopping fo it and , of course, eating it. I am a qualified home economist and have spent my working life involved with food, so now in my retirement what do I do ... write reviews on it!! I think that could make sense... Doo Yoo ?

Travel
If I'm not waxing lyrical aboi the calories in a bowl of soup you will probably find me rambling on about places I have visited.

I love travelling - and although I have not been to many long haul destinations I have some wonderful memories stored in my heart and head about so many of the places I have been to.

I find it a relaxing and enjoyable task to try to give my insight and experiences into some of the locations, it brings back some lovely happy memories and it may also help some Doo Yoo members out there make a decision as to where to spend their next holiday.
One thing I have noticed is that I always manage at some point in the review to mention - you guessed it - FOOD!! Freud what do you make of that??
Personally I have decided that by writing these travel reviews my head is telling me to get down to the travel agents and book another holiday quickly!! I wonder now though, when I go on holiday will I be looking at things with an eye to writing a review about it on my return - Doo Yoo?

Books
From being a very young child I have loved reading. I have lost count of the times that I have completely lost myself into the pages of a good book. I've often thought that there was a novel in me somewhere trying to get out - I've even attempted a couple, that lie forgotten in the bottom of my wardrobe.
As an 'educated' person who gained a level A in English Literture A level I am however appalled when I read some of the book reviews I have written. Why on earth do I read such books??? My problem is that I will read literally anything, even the Cornflakes box if there is nothing else available. I am a fast reader and get through books at an alarming pace.
I keep thinking I must review some more 'intellectual' books, then there I go back to the old Chick Lit book or tacky Who Dunnit !!
I read some wonderful reviews from other members that make me feel quilty for wasting my time reading some of the rubbish I do read, but then when browsing book stalls, charity shops etc I still choose to read the easy option.
I think that I will make myself a task to read at least one 'decent' book a month, I think I could stick to that - Doo Yoo?

So just what are my Doo Yoo reviews saying about me - I think I know - Doo Yoo?????

Summary: Doo Yoo has become my hobby and recreation - I love it!!

"so where am I going wrong? "

I'm not a psychologist but maybe you are addressing the symptoms and not the underlying issue?

Interes ting review.
