~ Overview ~
Now I haven't been a member for long but I can safely say it is one of the best websites for reviewing products or discussing issues which are important to you. The website is quite user friendly and I have yet to find an issue with regards to using the site.
Basically it's a site where you sign up, you write reviews on items of interest, and you get rated on how well you have written your review from the Dooyoo Community. There are guides which do a grand job at finding those who break the rule and get them kicked off and don't get paid any extra so hats of to them.
Tips for newbie's: If you wish to get a decent rating from other Dooyoo users you will have to earn it, mainly by putting in a lot of effort and using the correct grammar and punctuation. You do get paid to review products, but I tend to write them for the passion and because I like to get nice comments back from users and don't just write reviews like a man on a keyboard trying to churn out as many as possible to earn lots of cash.
If users do decide to write the least amount, be warned that if your reviews don't pass quality inspections, Dooyoo will lock your review and your 500 points earned will be docked from your total, along with all the user ratings (1.5p per read).
~ Graphics ~
The graphics are very simple and in my opinion the site is very attractive and all reviews are written in a simple text box which can be edited and changed at your hearts desire. Most of the site is text based with lots of links and lots of things to click which is why I find it so addictive, I just can't stop clicking.
~ Ease of use ~
**Signing up**
This is a very simple process which takes very little time and only requires you to click an activation link to activate your account. Once you have signed up you can create your own picture, write a profile and start writing reviews, it's that easy!
**Navigating**
Roaming around the site is quite easy although finding sections like discussion at first can be a bit tricky to find but with the wonderful sitemap and help section it wasn't long before I discussing world politics.
**Page loading speeds**
During the day each page loads fairly quickly but sometimes it can slow down at night, it depends how many users are logged into the site.
~ Sections of the site ~
*My Account*
Here you are able to see how many reviews you have written and see how many crowns you have earned (only awarded to those who have written master pieces and you do get 1500 points extra). Here you can also view your profile picture and see your overall ratings given and received and see the comments you have written.
*My Visitors*
This section shows small pictures of the different users who have rated your review or those which have visited your profile and not necessarily rating any reviews. I tend to try to read and rate more reviews than I actually write but that's just my preference.
*Communication Centre*
I use this to message the Dooyoo Community and also to suggest new ideas for the site which may not be there but ideas which I would like review. You can also pick and choose alerts which you require. This informs you of any user who may have left a comment, added you to their circle of friends and any new reviews by a user.
*Dooyoo Miles*
This is probably where all the number crunching goes on. Here you will find all your miles (points) earned from your reviews and ratings and have spent many hours just sitting there looking at it gradually creep up and up. You will also find the date you joined this fine website and when your profile was last updated.
*About me*
Well what can I say; here you will find all the information about me. I tend to write a short synopsis about how I rate and review items as well as giving a brief description of me and what I enjoy doing, for those who like to nosey!
~ Compatibility ~
I benchmarked this site using a few packages (Firefox, Internet Explorer) and found that the site worked to its full potential under all these different software packages.
~ My Opinion ~
Dooyoo is a wonderful idea, a real find and a site which will only get more popular and the best site which gives users advice on products before buying which helps you make informed decisions which can save you lots of money as well as giving you the chance to earn some to help you pay for the item.
The different profile pictures ranging from penguins to little kittens is a cute side to the site but also you get to see my mush too, aren't you lucky! Once you have racked up enough miles you can cash them in and so far have had no problem with receiving cheques from Dooyoo. A very prompt service with a real professional look, this site will be around for many years to come.
This site should come with a clock, one which times how long you have been logged in as if it did I know I would be shocked at how long I spend each night. My wife does the same and most of the people I have met and spoken to on Dooyoo really are friendly and helpful. Then there are the revenge dudes who Doonot follow the rules but they come and go like the wind, it's a yin and yang thing and you just get used to them or I just avoid them if I can.
This is the best site I have come across this year and for those who enjoy reading, writing and shopping all at the same time then this is the website for you.
