Advantages: Good Fun, Makes Money

Disadvantages: Reward System

Well this is my 200th review! Have been a member of Dooyoo for a few months now, and think have just about got the hang of it, so I thought it only right that I review the site.

So first of all I just want to say how much I have enjoyed my time he on Dooyoo. I always have an opinion on things so it's nice to have somewhere to express myself and maybe even help other people who want to learn about certain products and services.

I first got into Dooyoo for the money, and as you will see from my early reviews I didn't put a huge amount of effort in. But that soon changed, I took the time to write some decent reviews, spent time reading and rating other reviews and basically used the site as it should be used.

I have made a little bit of money over the past few months. I'm very happy with the way you get paid. It's quick and easy and not to much of a problem. All though I will say its not very professionally done, when you just get a hand written cheque in a hand written envelope it does not inspire you with confidence in the company. You don't even get a letter of any sort with your cheque. However the cheque still turns up and goes into my bank account no problem.

I enjoy the fact that you can review just about anything on here. And if you can't find what your after then of course you can make a suggestion, I've used this feature a few times and a week or so later I can write my review on the product I'm interested in.

There is such a wide variety of reviews on here, it's very intesresting to see what people make of certain things, one person will love a certain product and the next will hate it. You get an idea of people personalitites as your read there reviews. Feel like I have got to know a few people whilst been on the site reading there various reviews.

One thing I don't like about the site is the way your are not really encourage much to write good reviews. I know there are the insentives of crowns, but I'll get to that in a sec. I read another review of Dooyoo from a member who was a little upset that he never gets much credit. So now he just churns out medicore 300 word reviews just so he can get paid. This is a shame really.

I have had a similar experience. Usually my reviews are about 500 words. I spent about 15 minutes writing them and make sure all my inforamtion is correct. However, a few times I have put real time and effort into writing a review, but have had no reward in anyway for my efforts. This of course brings us to the subject of crowns. How come the same members keep getting crowns? I realise they put effort into their reviews and so deserve some recognition, but what about user like me who also occasionally put out a great review.

Now I'm not saying my reviews are amazing. I've never been the best at grammar and don't have the most descriptive language or a big vocabulary. Along with a terrible sense of spelling, and even though I check my reviews, am sure some mistakes get through. However check out my review on Mellon Collie and the infinate sadness. An album by the Smashing Pumpkins. Now I love this album so wanted to do a really good review. I spent ages listening to the tracks and trying to describe how each one made me feel. I put a real lot of time and effort into this review. It currently has 38 reads and no crown awarded. However if you look near the bottom of the list of reviews on this album, you will see a review that is just 283 words long, has 172 reads and has a crown! How does that work? My review has over 1800 words! I'm not saying the crowned review is bad, I'm just saying some boffin typed that up in five minutes, where as I struggle all afternoon writing the best review I can manage and get nothing. A few people said they really enjoyed my review and had 'nomed' it, but I never got a crown.

Another one that upset me was my review of 'My Experience of Anxiety and Panic Attacks'. Now this is a subject that is very close to my heart having had some serious problems in the past. So I spent all afternoon pouring my heart and soul into this review. Some of it I found very hard to write, but I wanted to do it and tell people how I had dealt with it. A few people messaged me and said they found my review really helpful and inspiring, this was nice, but again no crown. 2408 words, all the effort I could muster and nothing!

I may sound a little bitter about this but I think it is very unfair. It does not inspire me to write big long reviews where I put lots of time and effort in. Rather it makes me think, well whats the point, just churn out as many review as I can and make sure they are decent. But that's not the way the site should be run. Who decides about crowns, and how do you get hold of one is what I want to know! Then at least I can put some effort into my reviews and see some rewards.

Anyway, that's just the one thing that upsets me about this site. Everything else is excellent, its easy to navigate, simple to use, and set out in a nice straight forward way. I am hoping am going to be using Dooyoo for a long time yet as I keep finding more things to review. I just hope someday someone will find a place in there heart for one of my reviews and give me a crown!

Anyway, great site, love it lots and am very glad I found it!

Summary: A Great Site
