Advantages: Fun. Money.
Disadvantages: Takes time
I am sure that most people reading this will know all about dooyoo. However for those who don't, quoting what dooyoo says on this website, "dooyoo is a community of consumer review writers which aims to advise on product purchases through their own experiences." So one reason for joining would be to help individuals buy better products than they may buy otherwise. The other reason which some people think is a bit more important is to make a bit of cash. Other people seem to think that it is extremely silly for example, to buy a new toaster and then toast six different pieces of bread you are never going to eat, just to tell someone you don't know, to not use setting six as it makes your bread too crispy. Obviously they are simply silly in thinking that.
Instead of boring you with small things like the layout and colour scheme which if you are on this page you can obviously see I will start by talking about something most people are interested which is of course the rewards. (The readers who bother reading the rest of this review might be lucky enough to hear about the layout, small problems that nobody cares about and other exciting things.) dooyoo are very kind and give you 50p for every review you write over 150 word and on products unlike their stingy rivals Ciao. 1.5p is also given to you for every read you get. As you get 50p for writing a review lots of people think that it makes more financial sense to write 20 rubbish reviews in an hour and get £10 than spending a lot of time and effort writing a really good review and rating lots of other people's reviews and only getting £1.50. Ok so it does in the short term but if your reviews are rubbish or you aren't doing anything useful for everyone else you might be banned. Also in the long term you will receive a lot more rates if you rate others. Crowns are given to exceptional reviews and they are worth £1.50 each. There are also competitions where you can win up to £5. So potentially if you win a competition, a crown and get loads of rates you can get £10 for writing one review. Unlikely, but you never know. ( Okay you probably know that you aren't going to get £10 for a review but it's a nice thought anyway.)
There are several different ways of receiving your money from dooyoo. For the generous yet unfortunately few of us you can donate money to several different charities once you have made £5. When you get to £20 you can collect Amazon vouchers and once you get to £50 you can receive a cheque. My experiences with dooyoo suggest that they send the cheque quickly and there aren't any problems. ( My experiences with dooyoo make me sound old when in fact I am a teenager, having joined for three months and receiving only one cheque so far. However most people seem to agree with me)
At first, and even for more experienced members help is always available. Most people are very kind and are quick to give a helping hand. dooyoo have also created guides for each section which will always help you if you ever experience any difficulties. Overall the community is very kind although there are some incidents, especially concerning new members about revenge rating and the likes. However, I don't want to dwell on this and have a long rant about the absolute minority. ( Also if I say dooyoo is perfect they might like me.)
Most reviews here are written to a great standard and help you decide on many purchases which can save you time and money. Personally, I have been saved from spending £20 on Empire Total War by a review (my friend's say it's the best game ever) and several other things. The Empire Total War game probably wouldn't have worked on my computer so it was extremely helpful.
Finally (you will be glad to know) I will just repeat ( I can almost hear you groan) that dooyoo is a great website with a fun and lively community. While it won't make you rich overnight it is enjoyable and will give you the chance to add a small luxury in your life. ( Like helping you to pay off your phone bill which you spent explaining to seven people why you can't pay their bills and that taking all the water and electricity won't help but could be an inconvenience.) Sorry for the lack of information on the layout, small problems that nobody cares about and other exciting things.
Summary: Definitely worth joining.
