Advantages: has great potential

Disadvantages: its taking up too much of my valuable time

I do now - but I had my doubts to begin with. My first impressions are given first and I have added a section at the end.
Along with many others I joined dooyoo to enter the competition and have continued in order to earn miles. I have enjoyed doing it and find it quite interesting reading others opinions. It is possible that when dooyoo is fully established it might be useful.

But it is already obvious that it has the potential to be abused. Even the most useless opinions can be classified as very useful by your own friends and of course the more friends you have the more miles and respect you will earn. Similarly it can be abused by promoting your own or friends websites or products.

It is in its early stages at the moment but I am already beginning to have my doubts whether a 'paying' system can really encourage honesty.

I was originally concerned that dooyoo was open to abuse and while this still remains an issue it is not a very large one. Now that it is beginning to build up it is apparent that in the long term 'voting' for friends will not have any long term effects upon the ultimate status of any opinion. When people begin to use dooyoo properly the people who are really interested in particular things will be the main voters and it is these which will truly determine whether an opinion is useful or not. I have seen my own opinions equalise as more people read them and I've no doubt that some of my opinions will eventually disappear to the place where not useful opinions eventually go.
At the same time, however, it is surprisingly difficult to be truthful in voting. I don't think I have had the courage to vote something not useful even if that is my opinion. But I'm sure this will change as others are more willing to be honest. I think I will try to be more honest in future and base my vote on whether an opinion is useful not only whether an opinion gives me some information but on the 'why
' content of the opinion. I don't really care if someone likes something or not, after all everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I want to know why.
I think dooyoo will work because I have already found it useful myself. I used dooyoo to help select some e-mail services and even though it is still in its early days I can see how useful it could be. Just browsing I have been tempted to see a film which I wouldn't have normally bothered with and found a better search engine. So as the sort of person who has consulted Which reports in the past to help decide over purchases I will certainly check with dooyoo for opinions in the future.
