Advantages: Fun, the lure of profit, gives me a chance to rant about EVERYTHING and have people listen!
Disadvantages: Physical and mental pain, becomes the focus of life
Yeah, I've sure felt a few twinges in my fingers and arms as a result of this site. The thing with dooyoo is, you go on to check your account, you stay to read some opinions, and perhaps write that one you've been thinking about all day, and you end up thinking "Hang on, why don't I write about that, and that, and that, and that!!" I've only been a member now for eight days, but I've already managed to rack up 39 opinions, one crowned, and I wouldn't say any of them are exactly short! I wouldn't say money was the main thing that keeps me coming back, and keeps me writing (although £11.20 so far for eight days work's not bad!) but it is definitely a factor. The main thing that keeps me coming back is that I just love to go on for hours and hours about anything and everything and actually have people want to read what I have to say! The biggest hook is checking my account. It's always the first thing I do upon logging into dooyoo... I see what my balance is, try to see where the new reads occured, if any new comments have been written on my opinions etc, and from there I usually go out to reply to comments, and to read the profiles and opinions of people who rated my opinions. The next couple of hours are usually then spent writing more opinions.... The great thing about this site is that it is so diverse, it covers so many subjects that you could never possibly run out of things to write about - and there are so many opinions written that you could never possibly read them all. If dooyoo JUST covered electrical products, or JUST covered current affairs etc, then I probably would not spend as much time here as I do, but the fact that it covers ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING has just got me hooked. Above all, it's just great fun. The people here are by and large very friendly, and a very intelligent bunch, and sharing opinions and views is just a re
ally enjoyable thing to me - that goes for outside of dooyoo too. Tonight, I've spent about four hours in all dooyooing - which is less than the first couple for days, but I think it still shows serious addiction! I get the feeling that this could be very bad for ones social life... I can quite seriously see it getting to the stage where I would rather stay and hang around dooyoo than do anything else. It's only a matter of time before I become a recluse and sit at my keyboard reading and writing opinions 24/7.... I'm already at the stage where I spend a lot of time when I am not on dooyoo thinking about what I am going to write about next, how I can improve my opinions, how well the ones I have written already are doing. It really has had a rather big impact on me. Is this healthy? probably not... but I don't care... I'm more than happy to cause myself physical pain and mental tiredness, because I'm just having too much fun to stop!
