Advantages: Expression of opinions

Disadvantages: Annoying users

Unless you are part of the Dooyoo 'in crowd' you have no chance of getting a lot of reads. I write great reviews on a range of topics yet fail to get reads because I do not have a big 'circle of friends' on here. I am not anti social its just that I haven't got time to go round giving everyone on the list a VU just to help their profile. If an opinion isn't VU then I give it something else. I use this site for its original purpose and any money received is a bonus, some of us even give it to charity.

I will not follow the instructions of some of the regulars on here, one of whom emailed me the following :-

"You can be part of my circle of friends as long as you check Dooyoo everyday and rate any new opinions VU, I will do the same for you"

Is that the idea here?

I will continue to write my opinions here but I do so less frequently now. Dooyoo remains the best opinion site as Ciao and epinions suffer the same problems whilst still offering less topics. I hope that some of you who follow the practice of rushing round, reading all your circle of friend's articles will consider this and stop doing it as it puts newcomers off. Also it is not very encouraging to writers like me who see terrible opinions with great ratings and lots of reads whilst mine are left alone (despite the fact that they are some of the best on here).

Sorry for the rant but this site can be quite infuriating sometimes

UPDATE - after reading many of the comments and some of the stuff on OpCom I have come to the conclusion that the 'in-crowd' is not as big as I thought it was but I still believe it does exist on a smaller scale.

I agree with some of what you say here, but you really need to get your head out of your backside. Until you do, I can't see that many people will go out of their way to read and rate your ops.

Basically, I agree with a lot of what you said. There are a lot of VU ratings given out for no apparent reason.

Ps - I like your forthright atitude; I like to think that I am the same.
