Advantages: great for writing
Disadvantages: some members send death threats
Dearest Member,
My name is Irene, or outmymind as I am known on the dooyoo site. You may know me from my previous opinions such as "I want to be laid again" or "I See Dead People" amongst others, or maybe you don't know me at all (which is probably better for you). I have been a member of this dooyoo opinion site for almost two months.
In my time as a member I have been accused of all sorts of nasty crimes against other members. I was accused of something called 'revenge rating' but to be honest I really didn't even understand what that meant! The simple truth of the matter is that I always start off with a rating of 'useful' in my head. If the opinion exceeds my expectations I go up a slot to very useful or if it s worse than usual I go down a slot but mostly I just leave it at useful. This REALLY upsets some members. Really, what is your problem some of you? What does it matter if you have 1000000 very useful ratings and I come along and rate useful? Is it really affecting your life so much as you have to send me death threats through email? If you really think you are so good a writer don't wste time writing here for 3p per read, go get published. If you don't think you are good enough to get published then stop moaning about the odd 'useful' rating. It doesn't matter!
Apart from those people this site is a great site for writing your opinion or getting opinions of others. I have used the advice to buy several things although sometimes the advice isn't good even though it has a crown. I bought a printer because of a great review with a crown and when I got the printer it was nothing like the review said so I think people can lie and make things up sometimes even if they make it look convincing.
What I really wanted to say was that I'm sorry if I offended anyone with my so-called revenge rating. I only want to write and earn a few vouchers for special treat
s and maybe also make some new friends or meet a nice man for friendship or maybe more. I don't want to be annoying people and I will try to be nicer from now on and fit in to the way that you other members expect me to be.

- 09/09/03 I certainly do not agree with you receiving death threats!! Have you reported this person? However, I think everyone has the right to query a rating (I have e mailed you this morning as I think you misread something of mine). Stay though and have fun, there is always someone on the site who takes pleasure in making others miserable, and I have been a victim many times, and I am still here....this site is something to spend your spare time and read about new things.
Ratings will always be a bone of contention, and I for one have no problems explaining my ratings. |

- 28/08/03 I appreciate your honest approach. If I like some one, I read their ops (giving them 3ps) and maybe comment. I still rate honestly, whatever. Some people take offence at anything less than VU - at least on Dooyoo it doesn't make much difference (on Ciao, it can send ops plummeting down the list).
I felt you didn't really get much into the many things you could say about Dooyoo in this op though. Your only substantial point (about rating) was made well, but adds little to your previous comments on rating (so only a useful from me). Do stick around though, it'd be a shame to see you driven out by idiots just because you don't always conform.

- 28/08/03 Ignore the pettyness, report the hatemail immediately and just be yourself! It is worth listening to some of the more establised members as they are (myself included) trying to make the site a nice place for EVERYONE if you are misunderstood then let people know. An opinion is an opinion, but so is a rating. If you find something only U or SU then that's fine. People wonder why they've been 'downrated' or 'revenge rated' if they have an opinion with 40 VU's and someone rates it completely differently. USUALLY it's a sign of childish pettyness from the revenge rater - but if you're not revenge rating then don't worry about. Be HAPPY! The site's supposed to be fun.
PS sorry about all the CAPS in the comment, but it is hard to emphasise words without keep putting "'s around them.
