I have been using the internet since very much the beginning, and have seen it grow from a number of acorns into a forest of oak trees. Some of these sadly are diseased, others distorted but as a whole some fantastic trees have been grown, with many branches of opportunities attached.

The title of this review asks about 'General Online Perks in general'. This are so many in number, it would be difficult and very time consuming to go through them in detail. I will however look at some of the online perks on offer, and in particular ones I have used to my advantage in the past.

Selling Clutter

In my early days on the net I signed upto Ebay, in a way of getting rid of some of my clutter. I am a bit of a hoarder, so it was nice to see the house have more room to breathe. After I had been trading for some time, I realised I had found a nice little earner, and actually started going out rummaging in charity shops etc. I'd find items that only cost a few pence and sell them on and make hundreds (if not thousands) of percent profit. This only encouraged me to do more and more. It paid quite nicely for a few holidays, we probably wouldn't have had. Sadly now Ebay have increased fees, and made it more difficult for the smaller seller, I no longer make anything, like I used to. There are also so many charity shops and sellers with their own auctions on ebay, that those bargains, although still out there, are very difficult to find now.

However Ebay is not the online source you can use to sell clutter. There are other sites out there. These include the likes of ebid, Amazon Marketplace, ibootsale.co.uk You can also use free classifieds such as gumtree and vivastreet.

Bookmakers/Casinos

There are literally hundreds of Bookmakers and Casinos on the internet. Many of these have offers to attract you to 'gamble' your money. If you are extremely careful, you can take some of these offers, without risking a penny. I have made thousands this way. However you need to have discipline. Gambling is a mugs game. Competitions

I go through stages of doing competitions online. They are, in the whole, free, and there are thousands out there at any particular time. They can be quite boring to complete at times, but I have won some nice prices over the years. The more you complete, the more chance you have of winning.


Cashback

Where would we be without cashback sites. These are sites that receive money from a store or shop, if you use them to buy an item or service. In return the cashback site will give you anything upto 100% of the monies received back. A great way of getting items cheaper.


Make money doing surveys

I haven't had a great deal of success competing surveys online, although I know others who have. There are also a lot of rogue sites out there so be careful. However some of the more reputable ones pay money for you to complete questionnaires etc. A good source of earning extra money.


Review Sites

Well you obviously know about review sites or you wouldn't be reading this. Dooyoo itself is probably one of the most successful sites out there along ciao.co.uk. They are both a good way of earning extra money, towards a holiday or something special


Comparison Sites

In the past if you wanted Insurance or Financial Products, you would pop into your local Insurance Office or bank. Not now. There are lots of comparison sites giving you all the information on the cheapest products, with just a click of your mouse. This will, without doubt, save you hundreds of pounds a year.

Freebies

I can't believe I've gone so far down this list without even mentioning freebies. There are so many out there. Most are samples. But you can get anything from free magazines, toothbrushes, sweets, smelly cream etc. Well worth scouring the net. Just type in freebies and see what you can get for nothing.


Blogging
*******

Want to earn some extra cash. Then why not Blog. Blog is writing online about anything you have a passion in. You can then spread adverts around your site and the more people who pop along and read your blog, the more cash you are likely to make.


Offer your services

Do you have a skill you can offer? Maybe it is something you can do online. Webdesign, Typing, Scanning etc. There are many freelance sites out there where you can advertise your services, and get paid for things others can't (or haven't got the time) to do.
