Advantages: Pleasant work, Can be fairly lucrative, A number of sites to chose from
Disadvantages: None really
I have put this op in the 'general online perks' category instead of chosing one of the particular online mystery shopping site categories as I thought it would be better placed here. Hope this is OK. I feel it belongs here rather than in the other place. Anyway ..... Lots of people earn a fair part time wage by doing Mystery Shopping. This is where someone is hired by a market research company to go into various outlets, for example shops, pubs and restaurants, or banks to anonymously test the customer service levels. This is in the ‘real world’. However, recently, Internet mystery shopping has become very popular and there are now quite a few opportunities for people wanting to earn a bit of cash online by doing mystery shops on websites. Many companies are now testing out their sites by commissioning people to 'secret shop' there to see whether the site works properly, if goods are easy to order, arrive on time, whether refunds are easy to obtain etc. I joined up with two or three mystery shopping sites last year, although I don’t do so much now ..... I seem to have become addicted to Dooyoo! The work is relatively easy and the payment is quite good. Here are some sites to look out for. ~~~~~~~~~~ Emysteryshopper =============== This site, http://www.emysteryshopper.com is the best one I know of at present. It is extremely easy to become a shopper here and there are always plenty of projects to keep you going. After registration you are sent an agreement by post which must be signed and returned before you are assigned surveys. At the end of any group of surveys they then send you a dummy invoice via email which you fill in with your own details, along with the number of surveys you’ve completed, which you then return by mail. It’s simple and convenient. Emysteryshopper pay promptly, which is great and you don’t even have to wait thirty days for payment with this c
ompany. I have found them to be extremely professional and friendly, emails are answered promptly and they are very helpful when you have a telephone query you need sorting. THey also supply you with loads of work generally. ~~~~~~~~~~ Newmedia ========= Here, http://www.newmediaMR.co.uk is another mystery shopping site that works on a similar basis to eMystery shopper. There aren’t as many projects to undertake here however. You will only get the odd survey now and again, but the payment is OK when you do get work. I have found them to be easy to contact, professional and helpful. Payment is sent out at the end of the month, so you do have a little wait and as with the previous site, you are sent a dummy invoice by email which you fill in and return. ~~~~~~~~~~ Mediatransfer ============== Mediatransfer, http://www.mediatransfer.com differs from the previous two sites in that you don’t have to purchase from a website with their surveys, you only have to visit and fill in a short questionnaire about your surfing experience. This is not as in depth or time consuming as purchasing, and you are not paid in cash for your efforts. Rather, you are awarded ‘MTs’ (Media Transfers?) which can be transferred to gift vouchers when you account reaches 100. Surveys are not very regular with these unfortunately, but you do get the odd one now and again. ~~~~~~~~~~ Visitorfriendly ================ This site, http://www.visitorfriendly.com like Mediatransfer, only requires you to go along to sites and browse round, filling in a detailed questionnaire afterwards. Each 15 minute survey pays around £1.50, however, recently there have been some longer ones. The last one I completed was for £14, which I spent an hour doing. This five-site mystery shop paid £14, which for an hours work is quite good, I feel. Sometimes you get quite a few surveys here, sometimes you might not get oon
e for weeks, however, what is great about this site is that you can access your account details online at any time, so you can check your account balance. They are quick with payment and always send you a confirmation email when you have filled in one of their surveys. ~~~~~~~~~~ So, can you make a lot of money by online mystery shopping? Well, yes ... and no. Sometimes you will make a pretty penny and at other times there will not be so much work at a particular time. Emysteryshopper provide you with loads of surveys. Late last year I had so many lined up I didn’t know how I would be able to complete them all! What I would say though, is do what I did and sign up for them all, then you will always, more or less, have something to keep you going. Online mystery shopping is a pleasant way to earn money definitely and if you are keen to get your voice heard, who on Dooyoo isn’t, you will certainly get plenty of satisfaction from doing these sort of surveys.

- 20/08/01 No, there are no sign up fees, and yes, you do need to order stuff on line, which you return of course. eMysteryshopper give you about £5 purchase allowance, which you can put towards something you order and keep, or use as 'expenses'. |
