Advantages: Fun to be had
Disadvantages: Time consuming
1: www.dooyoo.co.uk - Maybe I am biased but since I have a stack of reviews littering up my hard drive why not post them online and get paid for it. Thats as simple as DooYoo is, get paid for writing, which if it is something you love is only a bonus in my eyes. The site is simple to navigate and pays well, the only thing that Ciao has over it is the option to participate in surveys which come to me quite frequently.
2: www.ciao.co.uk - Another opinions website not too dissimilar from DooYoo, also has the option to participate in surveys which you are invited to take via an email, these tend to pay well but sometimes they are sent to you and you are not suitable to take them, they only tell you this after starting the survey so these can be quite annoying. Unfortunately the payment system is quite complicated and you are not always paid well.
3: www.singshot.com - A karaoke website, not the first but one of the best. Also it is totally free to join. Uploading songs is easy, all you need is a microphone, you then record a song over the instrumental and decide how you want it to be viewed by other members. Another bonus of this website is reviewing other peoples attempts at songs, some are amazing, others laughable but overall much fun is to be had if you enjoy singing. The only downside is that the song choice currently is limited but is improving every month.
4: www.darrenhayes.com - My favourite male singer of all time and the lead vocals of my all time favorite band. Darren Hayes may not be to everyones taste but he has an undeniably good voice. This site contains all the latest news and media updates as well as a members section and both members and non-members forums. It is one of the best online communities I have had the pleasure of experiencing.
5: www.myspace.com - Create a profile, upload a picture and you are away. Possibly the biggest online community but with the option to hide yourself to all but your friends. Easy to use and highly customisable with the option to add your favourite music and videos. Free to use.
6: www.youtube.com - Fresh from being taken over by Google but retaining all of its original qualities. Want to relive your youth? Type into the search box the features you remember or the name of a TV show and see what it comes up with, I have had a lot of luck in finding most videos I have wanted.
7: www.google.com - The BEST search engine online, simple to use, fast and thorough, I challenge you to try Google and see if it cannot find what you are looking for. Also comes with the option of tons of free downloads such as Google Earth, a satellite map service and Google Toolbar, a search toolbar with many other functions.
8: www.facebook.com - Another online comunity but mainly School, College and University based, this has allowed me to kep up to date with all my school friends as they depart to Uni. Some networks require a Uni based e-mail address.
9: www.americansweets.co.uk - A british based website that allows you to purchase American candies and cereals online. Lucky Charms are back in action (Well once a month anyway) and anything Grape flavoured is available here, also try the American versions of some British faves, surprisingly different!
10: www.moneysavingexpert.com - Martin Lewis gives you tips on how to save money, how to make money, where to find freebies etc. Brilliant tips from other users on the forums available and lists of scam websites are also available.
Thanks for reading, Jade x
Summary: These are my favourites, check them out :)
