Advantages: Anything you need to know about tv, books, movies, eating and wearing specs!
Disadvantages: I didn't include Amazon. But most of you know about that, right?
Here are ten websites I find useful, or just plain fun.
www.matterbox.com
I'm not sure whether this will turn out to be a good website or not. Basically you register, put in a few details about your interests and a box made up of samples of various free goodies will be sent to you. These come in special editions, and when you get yours depends when you register. I've been waiting since September, and mine is due to come in January. I'll let you know how it goes.
www.imdb.com
The internet movie database is useful for reminding myself of characters names, movie directors etc before writing a film review.
www.gutenberg.org
An online book catalogue of over 25000 free books to download. Great for perusing the classics if you're studying.
library.digiguide.com
An A to Z tv listings guide, that helps you track down when your favourite programme is coming on, along with a full episode guide.
www.cineworld.co.uk
My most accessed website for checking out the latest films and times. They've just improved the site and are now showing film clips. You can also buy gift vouchers for Cineworld cinemas.
www.argos.co.uk
Ideal for checking the latest Argos offers prices and reserving online.
www.thebookbag.co.uk
A book review site, great for finding out a bit more about a book before buying. I've noticed a few people on Dooyoo are writing for bookbag and that's how I found out about it. Thanks!
www.scoresonthedoors.org.uk
Food hygiene ratings for takeaways, pubs, clubs and restaurants. Very useful for checking out your favourite eating places, but beware, you may not want to risk going there again!
www.specsavers.co.uk
Useful for looking at different styles of glasses before going to the shop to order. There are models with different face shapes that you can try them on, or you can upload your own photo.
chriswetherell.com/elf/
This one is just for the fun of it. Ever wondered what your elf name might be? Just put your full name on here and find out.
Summary: Websites I've found useful.
