When I try to think of my favourite 10 websites it can be quite a struggle. There are plenty of websites which I find useful and use quite frequently, though usually for more practical reasons rather than for my enjoyment. The following therefore are a mix of fun and practical websites which more often than not are in my toolbar as recently visited.

Google (www.google.co.uk)

I will start with the most obvious site, Google. Google is actually set as my home page and so each time that I log onto the internet I visit Google at least once. Google as I'm sure everyone knows is the biggest search engine and allows users to search for web pages, images, maps, businesses and answers to questions.

I have very recently found that Google allows users to review businesses. After a particularly bad experience with a company who tried to con my husband and I out of money (I must point out that this is now resolved, the company did not expect us to turn up at their address and demand our money back in person), I was then able to warn others about them in order to prevent anyone else from finding themselves in the same situation.

Over the years I have searched many random things through Google. The internet is a great source of information with regards to just about any topic and Google is always my first port of call when looking up any information I require.

Facebook (www.facebook.com)

Facebook is a social networking site, allowing users to create a profile and share information with chosen people. There are endless applications and uses with Facebook and each user will undoubtedly make it their own.

I personally use Facebook in order to keep in touch with friends who I may not see on a week by week basis. I share photos from holidays, days out and general family snaps. I also use Facebook to contact friends who I know will be near a computer during the day, after all this can save a great deal of money on phone calls or text messages.

I check Facebook each time I log onto the internet. It has become quite an obsession and I often find myself rather disappointed if I haven't received any messages or comments!

My husband also has a Faceook account, however he will usually ask me to check it for him and add or change any information.

Yahoo (www.yahoo.co.uk)

I have an e-mail address through Yahoo which I have had since my teens. My husband also has a Yahoo e-mail address. Yahoo is therefore another website which is used on a regular basis in our house.

What I particularly like about Yahoo is that it offers a spam filter and a facility to block a large amount of e-mail addresses. I am therefore able to filter out and instantly delete any annoying spam messages or those containing possible viruses.

Yahoo offers more than just e-mails, though I rarely venture into any other section. To list a few there are categories which include news, horoscopes, property and games.

Yahoo Answers (www.answers.yahoo.com)

This site is of course part of Yahoo but entirely different. Yahoo Answers enables users to ask questions on any given subject, these questions are not answered by experts but can be answered by you or any other Yahoo users.

Answers can be rated good or bad and can also be awarded as 'Best Answer'. As you ask or answer questions you gain points and move up to different levels.

Yahoo Answers can become a little addictive and I have often found myself in categories such as pregnancy and parenting answering numerous questions from wary mothers or mothers to be.

It is a great source of advice, however some members can be a little abusive at times especially as there seems to be no set age guidance for users.

Kodak Gallery (www.kodakgallery.co.uk)

Kodak Gallery is a fantastic website where you can upload and order photographs and numerous personalised items. I have used Kodak Gallery for my son's Christening invitations, for his thank you cards and for his birthday party invitations. I have also used Kodak Gallery to make my husband some wonderful and very personal Father's Day cards which included photos of our son and my own verse.

Prices for prints and products vary so I will not list them all here, however I have found the prices at Kodak gallery to be extremely competitive. Items are always delivered promptly, usually within 1-2 days and the quality has always been second to none. I wholly recommend this one.

DooYoo (www.dooyoo.co.uk)

I feel a little silly giving you the address above as you are already here! DooYoo I presume will appear on many reviews under this category and is possibly a rather predictable one.

As I'm sure you are aware DooYoo is a fantastic way of earning money and is particularly enjoyable to those like me who have a love of writing. I'm not sure just how much I've earned through DooYoo since joining, though it has been a substantial amount.

Until recently I cashed in my miles after each 10,000 in order to receive Amazon vouchers which were then spent on gifts for any upcoming occasions. I am now aiming towards a £50 cheque which will go towards a funky new car seat for my little boy. His old one will then be passed down to our second child who is due at the end of October.

Amazon (www.amazon.co.uk)

Amazon accounts for almost all of my online purchases and if I do buy elsewhere, I will always check Amazon's prices first.

I usually find that Amazon has the most competitive prices and having free delivery on most items of £5 or over means there are always good deals to be had.

Amazon is a very simple online store which offers just about any product that you can think of. It is very easy to navigate which a clear and straight forward lay out.

Yell.com (www.yell.com)

This one is in my top 10 simply for practical reasons. Yell.com is basically Yellow Pages online, offering an extensive directory of businesses throughout the UK.

I have visited Yell.com on numerous occasions and I am always able to find exactly what I am looking for.

Yell.com enables uswers to search via a company name or a type of business, narrowed down further by the search area which can be a town, city, county or even post code.

Tesco (www.tesco.com)

This is another solely practical website. I use Tesco.com now and again to order my weekly shopping. My husband often works the occasional weekend and having a toddler and not driving myself can make it difficult for getting a weekly shop on my own. It is then that we resort to shopping online with Tesco.

One great advantage of shopping online is that we are able to keep a better check on just how much we are spending. One downside however is that delivery costs can sometimes be up to £5.

Ticketmaster (www.ticketmaster.co.uk)

My husband and I often attend comedy gigs, comedy evenings, theatre and music gigs.

Ticketmaster is a very straight forward website that allows you to search for events under your desired category, in any month and in any location you choose. You can then search available tickets and purchase online. There is a choice of collecting your tickets, having them delivered or even having them e-mailed direct to you so that you can print them yourself.

Ticketmaster could not be simpler and once you have an account you need not enter any payment details again, making the whole process run all the more smoothly.

If you find Tesco delivery prices too high, have a look at Ocado - they say they price match tesco and they have cheaper delivery slots (free over £75...) at certain times. I tried them and I think they were significantly cheaper, amazingly enough - you can do a basket/trolley comparison at mysupermarket.com and check, but it seemed competitive to me. We got free delivery (admittedly it was on Sat night - how tragic is that!). Worth a look though, and loads of discount codes floating around for them. xx

You should be able to see how many dooyoo miles you've cashed in!
