Advantages: All useful in their own way

Disadvantages: none!

Since being on maternity leave I have found myself using the internet more often, be it for online shopping (so much easier than lugging a pram round everywhere) or keeping in contact with people. So here are the websites I use most often, my top ten...

1) www.google.co.uk

I use Google so often I barely even realise I'm doing it. It's as if my hands automatically start typing it themselves and soon as I'm near a keyboard. It's great for doing quick searches for websites or information, but also has added features such as maps, shopping and images. I find it better at searching for things than some other search engines which bring up all kinds of irrelevent rubbish.

2) www.dooyoo.co.uk

Yes I know, hugely predictable but since discovering this website I've become slightly addicted! I love writing reviews, and obviously earning a bit of money, but its reading other reviews I've found most helpful. It's handy to read what unbiased people think of products or services before I spend my hard-earned money on them

3) www.hotmail.co.uk

I check my emails several times a day, whether its emails from friends/family, mystery shopping requests, facebook updates...I'd be lost without it. I find hotmail particularly good at protecting my inbox from spam and junk mail, and is very easy to use. It also comes with the added bonus of msn messenger, an instant messaging programme where you can easily interact with friends who also have a msn or hotmail email account.

4) www.facebook.com

What did I do before facebook?! I wont go into too much detail as I have already done a separate review on the website. What I will say is that it is a hugely addictive social networking website which helps you keep in contact with people, from work colleagues to friends you haven't seen since school. I find it great for keeping in contact with people and organising events.

5) www.valuedopinions.co.uk

I am a member of quite a few survey sites but this for me is by far the best. The rewards are high compared to others and it is easy to rack up money. I have been a member a couple of months and am already waiting for my second £10 Marks and Spencer voucher to arrive.

6) www.grassrootsmysteryshopping.com

I've been a mystery shopper for about a year now. After signing up, Grassroots email you with mystery shopping shops available in your area. They typically offer £10 per assignment but this varies depending on the complexity of the job. You are paid to give your honest opinions regarding service, staff professionalism and general views on the store or bank you are reviewing. It's great to give honest views on customer service and even better getting paid for it!

7) Lloyds TSB online banking

Not very exciting I know but I don't know how we managed before we had internet banking. It's great for keeping up to date with our finances and enables us to transfer money, set up/ cancel direct debits and save money, all without the hassle of going into the branch!

8) www.redvee.net

As a massive rugby league fan, redvee.net is a must read to catch up on all the latest news and rumours about my beloved St Helens. It has fixture lists and up to date news that are constantly updated. The best thing about this site is that its run by the fans for the fans, so its great (and often amusing) to read what like-minded people have to say. The fans forum in particular is great for reading, and contributing about all thing Saints.

9) www.ebay.co.uk

I've done a separate review on ebay so I won't go into too much detail, but this is THE website for any bargain hunter! I've picked up so many great things for practically pennies, from baby items and clothes to books and DVDs. It's also great for selling unwanted goods but you have to be aware of the fees that ebay charges

10) www.kiddicare.com

Kiddicare sell premium make baby products, such as fisherprice, Graco, Tomy and Clare de lune at a discounted price. I have found the prices much better than places like mothercare or early learning. I have bought quite a few items for here, including baby bouncer and carseat and have found the service and product quality really good. The delivery is free for orders over £50 and it arrives within a couple of days.

So that's my list, not hugely original but I recommend each and every one of them!

Summary: I clearly have too much time on my hands!
