Advantages: Good sites
Disadvantages: I spend to long on them!
This is probably not so much my favourite 10 websites it's more like my most used/popular top 10 sites, so in no particular order here they are:
This is a bit of a community site you can join, then you can post good (cheap prices) deals you find on-line or in shops ect, then other members comment and vote on weather it's a good deal or not, the more people vote it good the hotter the deal gets, it also has sections covering vouchers, freebies, competitions, requests and trades, i post quite a few deals on here and use it daily to look for deals, if your posting don't be put off by the minority of members who seem to make it there mission to try knock deals by picking on any little error they can find or voting cold and not giving a reason( Mmmm... revenge voting!) it's a real good feeling when you get hundreds of hot votes and people thanking you for saving them lots of money :)
Well i am sure i'm not the only one who heard about the site that gave you 50p for a easy 150 word review on basically anything you wanted to talk about and thought oh yes i will have a go at that! Well yes i have written a few 150 word reviews and earned a few 50p's, but now i hope i am writing much better quality reviews that are helpful to other members/people and using other members reviews to help me decide on future purchases/ holiday locations and fuel suppliers! and on top of that i get a community of lovely people that i enjoy working alongside! and anyone who wants to say hi just drop me a line:) thank you Dooyoo and all it's members for a good community site were i can earn a little pocket money, improve my writing skills and enjoy myself.
This is my home page because it's such a useful site, stuck on a spelling? start typing it into google and you'll have your answer before you could even open a dictionary site, just cant remember the name of that actor? a quick Google of the film name and you have it! and of course you can Google images, maps, shopping, news and lots more, Google seems to have the answer (or aprox 93,300,000 answers) in less then 1 second, you just have to hope the answer your looking for is on the first few pages or your in for a long night!
If you love movies then you probably use IMDB, the internet movie database, i think this site lists every single movie ever made, it has never failed to find any film i have looked for and it's got all the information you need about the film from the year it was made, who was in it, and the all important is it any good? it has a marks out of ten voting system and all votes are by IMDB members, personally i think the votes are very tight, i have watched many good films that only scored about 5-6 out of ten, but that's ok as now i know for me a 5-6 will be ok/good a 7-8 will be good and a 9-10 will be the best.
This is a good bargain site full of gadgets electronics and console accessories, it's a Hong Kong bassed site but all prices are in American dollars and you can pay with Pay Pal, i have bought loads of bits and pieces off here costing about 80% less then the UK price and the P+P is free on everything, not everything is top quality but if your only paying pennies then you still often get a bargain, the moral dilemer? if i keep buying cheap tax free (they mark them as a gift to avoid import tax) imported stuff i am only making things wors for the UK econemy, this is true but i only realy impuls buy daft gadgets which i would not buy at silly UK retail prices anyway.
The social networking site!!! I have been sat with people who were on Face book many times and i can tell you they are not very social at all, i don't see how sitting alone typing smiley faces to people is sociable at all, then they get hooked on Country Life, Yoville and FarmVille, i know people who have loads of YoVille/FarmVille accounts and they spend hours passing gifts/money from one account to another! My little rant over i can tell you i do use Face book and i think it's very good for keeping in touch with the family or for a chat with my other half when we are apart, or even a game of Scrabble now and again, but people, please please stop sending me YoVille/FarmVille requests!
This is another necessary evil in my opinion, not perticulaly a site i like but a site i need to keep me up to date with my finances, sorting direct debits, paying bill or just checking my ballance to make sure thing add up, i have now stopped my paper statements as all they did was sat in a box for a few months then i had to shred them, now i just log on check my account then log off, the site is as secure as any banking site, i need 3 passwords to get in and everything is securely encrypted, and i can do any transaction i want 24 hours of the day sat in my armchair.
One deal every day starting at midnight, P+P is usually £2.99 but you can get a code for free P+P if you join them on Twitter, i keep trying to buy something off this "one deal" a day site but either it's something i dont want or it sells out real quick, so i cant realy say much about customer service but from what i have heard it's ok, i will keep looking every midnight and one day i will get a bargain before it sell out!
A site that seems to get all the online sale prices quicker then anywhere else, listed from highest percent discount first, or you can change the list to today's best or items reduced today, just lists and lists of online sale items from top retailers, i check this site on a daily basis if i have time and have found many bargains on here which i have bought and then listed them on HotUKDeals, well worth a look as it's often quicker then Hot Deals.
Many years ago when i first started using the net i used Hotmail for my email but after a while i was getting that much junk mail i had to open another email account so i tried Yahoo mail, i don't think yahoo mail is any better then the other available choices and i don't use all the features of it just the email part, It's a straight forward easy to use layout with inbox, drafts, sent, spam and trash boxes and you can then add/name new folders for your personal filling requirements, and writing an email is easy, an email address is almost as important as a phone number these days and i have used Yahoo without a problem for a many years now.
