Here is a list of my ten favorite websites I use to waste time on the internet:

1) YouTube - from watching people falling over to make up tutorials YouTube has something or everybody. It's easy to waste hours of time watching videos on YouTube. I go to watch a review of a phone I'm thinking on buying and an hour later I'm still on YouTube but now I'm watching a video of a cat playing the keyboard.

2) IMDB - I love watching movies and TV programs but always hate it when you recognise somebody but just can't quite place them. Well that is a thing of the past with IMDB. Just search the name of the film or programme and you can get a list of the whole cast (sometimes even down to the extras you never noticed!). You chose who it was you recognised then you've got a list of EVERYTHING they've ever done.

3) Maximiles - this is an online loyalty scheme which I have been using for a year now and it's great. You can earn points in a number of different ways: taking part in surveys, watching videos, answering polls, clicking on emails and (the way I make most of my points) shopping through Maximiles. That's right; you just shop like normal except you to the shop through a link on Maximiles. I have been using the site for a year now and have already got £40 in vouchers!

4) Akinator - I know this website might sound like a stupid idea but I have spent hours on it trying to beat it. Basically what happens is you think of somebody (a celebrity, politician ect.) and answer questions about them (Are they male? Are they an actor? For example) and in only 20 questions it can guess who you are talking about! It's a bit like Guess Who but better. I have tried thinking of some obscure celebrity for the UK that not many people hear have even heard of and Akinator always gets it right. Amazing!

5) Damn You Auto Correct - this is a great site if you have some time to spare and what a great laugh. Anyone with an iPhone (or actually any modern phone for that matter) will have done this one time or another. You've been not really been paying attention when you are typing and you make a mistake, autocorrect kindly tries to correct you mistake but sometimes gets it a bit wrong and replaces it with a slightly inappropriate word. Well this is a website where people share their misfortunes and it is hilarious.

6) Isitraining.in - this does seem like a weird idea for a website but is actually quite fun. You go to the website isitraining.in/*insert city here* and tells you if it is currently raining. Did you know that when writing this it was raining in Tallinn and Glasgow but not in Rome and Beijing?

7) Learnsomethingneweveryday - is this quite a nice little website. Every day it gives has a new random fact and a little illustrating. What I like to do is check the fact for the day in the morning and try to slyly get it into a conversation. It is quite difficult on days when you get a fact like 'Humans share about 50% of DNA with bananas"!

8) Wikipedia - I know this is already a very common way to waste time on the internet but I recently found out a great little game to play on Wikipedia. It's called Wikipedia racing. You can play it alone but it is more fun with some friends (it's great for when you're bored at school). Somebody picks a random page which you all go to then somebody else picks a target page. You then have to get your way form the starting page to your target only by clicking on the links on the pages. It may sound boring but it can get very competitive!

9) Dooyoo - it had to be done! I've only been using this website for a couple days now but I am already hooked and can tell that this is going to be a nice little earner for me :D

10) Pocket-lint - this is the website I use for all of my gadget news. It has all the tech news you could ever need as well a nice segment called 'WEBSITE OF THE DAY'. It is really just what it says in the title. A new random website every day and it is these websites that I often use to fill my spare time.
