I use this site regularly. Its a really quick and easy way to find answers to your questions and get HONEST opinions, and believe me these people aren't known for holding back. In the same way, it can be used to get your opinions voiced, which can be a lot of fun taking short surveys etc other members have created, or you get involved in more serious debates.

The incentive is based on a points system only (2 points awarded for answering another member's question, 10 points if your answer is chosen as the best answer either chosen directly by the asker or by members votes, and costs you 5 points if you ask a question). As the number of points you earn increases, you move up levels. Each level has a limit as to the number of questions you are eligible to answer, ask, rate and vote on which increases as you move up the levels. Members are also able to rate each others answers by putting either a thumbs up or thumbs down vote to their answer and are anonymous. Every thumbs up vote you receive earns you an additional point, but does not count towards the overall best answer.
Although there is no real reward involved, it's highly addictive once you start answering those questions.

It is also possible to speak to other members via email or IM if you as the member choose to allow it, and become 'fans' based on their answers.

Of course there are some members who don't take the site very seriously, and deliberately post unhelpful answers, but I have found that the vast majority of people are genuine and are helpful in their responses.
