I'm a web developer and so have had a lot of experience with different domain name registration and hosting companies, and I've found 123-reg.co.uk to be one of the better sites in this market. 123-Reg offer a wide range of services, from domain registration to website & email hosting and instant website creation tools. I only really use 123-Reg for domain registrations, as I find it's one of the cheapest sites out there at £2.99 per year for a .co.uk domain and £9.99 per year for a .com... you might find slightly cheaper registrars but I've never had a problem with 123-Reg, so am quite happy to stick with them. I've used 123 reg for domain name ordering, management and i have also played around with some of their services such as template sites. The ordering process is very straightforward, and the Control Panel that you have access to, and that helps you manage all of your domains, is great. You can set up Web forwarding or email forwarding very easily, as well as dns forwarding and nameservers etc if you need to. If you are new to buying domains it is a pretty straightforward process, and there is a pretty good support system in place if you need it. I use 123 Reg to register and manage my domain names. My personal experience with them has been good, but then I have not yet needed support from them. However, they do have a helpful FAQ section. Registering domain names is quite simple. You simply choose what domain name you want (which may or may not be available). 123 Reg will give you a list of that name and what suffixes are available (e.g. domain.co.uk or domain.net). I use 123-Reg for registering all of our .uk domain names and have never had any problem with them to date. Personally I've needed to contact them so I can't comment on their customer service but I expect that with their pricing it is as to be expected. The control panel isn't bad but could be improved if you have several domains like we do, to make things quicker. Pricing is very good for .uk domain names especially. I've never registered a .com with them. You can keep control of your own DNS settings so that you can use whichever web and email host you like etc. I've noticed that DNS changes sometimes take a while to update, but to be fair it is quite reasonable and probably needed to keep the service up without any problems. Overall I would recommend them to anyone who asked me.

I have been using 123 reg now for about 6 months, i bought the domain name and the web site. i have some positives and negatives. The initial site setup and registration was fine including the templates were pretty easy to use. You choose you template insert pictures logos, and text thats about it, however when you come to change the template or some of your text, say you found a spelling mistake, it seems to take a long time to go back, change and re upload. Basically you get fed up of going back and too.
