123-Reg - good product but No support when it goes wrong (123-reg.co.uk)

Advantages: very easy to set up, full access to all your files

Disadvantages: slow server, appalling support system + not contactable by phone

Great service when all runs smoothly but absolutely awful when something goes wrong! Technical support is really slow to respond. Uploaded web files via ftp to their server and web DNS settings were re-set to show the 123 splash page. Spent 2 weeks emailing them and trying to get it sorted. 1 email back 14 days later said they've re-set the DNS settings and the website was up again. 2 weeks felt like an age and I've no idea just how much business we lost while the website wasn't working. And... emails are limited to 5MB. If anyone sends you an email over 5MB you just won't receive it and they don't get an error report to say its not been delivered! Oh and.... emails can take over 5 hours from send to receipt.

Summary: avoid this company - they're cheap + you get what you pay for!
