Advantages: lots of free stuff

Disadvantages: very few except the sometimes lengthy registration form for each sample.

Don't you just love getting a nice surprise from the postman? I know I do!
Well, here's your chance.

I logged onto 2001freebies.co.uk a couple of months ago and decided to give it a few weeks before writing my opinion on it. Obviously this was to see how long it took to get your freebies - if at all.

It is mostly good news, I'm pleased to report!

The site is pretty sraight forward to surf around and you simply have to choose from a list on the left hand side which type of freebies you're interested in. These vary from software to shampoo so the world's your oyster.

I went for their samples listings first to get an idea of what was up for grabs throughout the site. This is a great place to start as the smaller items are more likely to turn up.

I now have, for my trouble:

A very nice mouse mat (pink) from Voodoo shoes - that also measures your shoe size when you stand on it.

A small box of teabags from Yorkshire Tea.

A packet of jelly beans - well obviously I don't STILL have these!

Two sachets of Original source shower gel - with another two on their way.

Another mouse mat, which is rather boring and I've already given it away so I can't remember the company. I like my pink one thanks.

Some mens grooming sachets for my other half.

Two free bacardi breezer vouchers.

A margaret Astor foundation - quite nice and natural looking - but a strange jelly-like consistency?

A talking smartie! We love that one in our house - even if I did have to pretend I was under 13 to get it!

And a few more bits besides, I lost count.

However, the whisky didn't turn up.

The sachets are brilliant because they're ideal for travel.

Basically you've nothing to lose by registering. I haven't noticed any more junk mail than usual and it costs nothing to sign up.

It would take f
orever to request all the samples but I will add to this opinion if I receive any more corkers.

Let me know in the comments boxes if there's any real winners you think I've missed out on and I'll go and nab them too!
