This means that you can be sure anything you are reading is correct and once you have found a topic you are interested in you can check back regularly to find articles by (usually) your favourite writer. The site is divided according to topics and there are all sorts of topics imaginable covered, cand they are easy to browse through thanks to the well laid out site design. It can be difficult however to find a subtopic you are looking for as you have to go through several different pages to find it. Thankfully that only takes about a minute anyway and so it isn't really a big issue, particularly when... more

In February 1997, an American chap by the name of Scott Kurnit and a dedicated team launched The Mining Company. The original idea was to use real live people in conjunction with well set up web-pages to bring you the best well informed information content on the web. As one might expect, the Mining company quickly grew in size and scale and in 1999 was duly renamed About.com, in order to reflect its wealth and breadth of content, its vast range of services and ease of use. At present, About.com is visited my millions of on-line users each month, making it one of the most popular and not to be missed sites on the Net. What ...  Read the complete review

Webhelp.com was one my clients and they believed in giving real time answer with real touch somewhere they lost the approach because they started charging money for the searches. Now a day’s people ½ the part of their day are on the net doing something or the other. Internet has become so important that in real life also when we can’t find something, we sometimes wish that we could have a search engine, which will provide me the information or solve my problems. Today anything I ...  Read the complete review

Ive only recently discovered the about.com site from being recommended it by a friend in college! Since then ive used in near enough everyday to research one thing or another! It, as its name suggests!, got information *about* anything you can think of (within reason!). I can only comment on the topics I use, but im sure it applies to all the other catagories you can choose from. Catagories range from "Arts/Humanities" to "TV/Radio", and everything in between. Theres sections on pets, gadgets, comedy, food/drink, kids, jobs/careers, religion/spirituality....the list goes on (you'll have to have a look for yourself if you want more! :P) ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review about.com, not very human after all! (196 words)

About.com claim to be the human internet, sadly I have found their attitude towards us humans to be pretty poor. I joined a fairly recent venture between about.com and clickdough, where they released a pay-to-surf bar that seemed very good. However, about 2 months into the partnership about.com were seen to be doing little in the way of promotion, and the key ingredient, advertisers were dropping like flies. Clickdough withdrew their partnership, and about.com decided to keep all the profits generated, and did not pay for any of the work done by clickdough, so in turn, clickdough cannot pay any of the people who used the service, people who were guaranteed ...  Read the complete review
