--------Introduction--------
For those who wish to make a little extra money online acop.com may have been referred to when Internet searching. ACOP stands for American Consumer Opinion Panel. The company is owned and operated by Decision Analyst Inc, an international marketing research firm with headquarters in Dallas-Forth Worth, USA. It is a website that, in theory, pays members for participating in online opinion surveys. People can join the site free of charge from around the globe.
--------Joining the site--------
Registering with the site is simple enough. Go to the homepage and click ‘Registration’ on the left hand side. You have to confirm the following details: country of residence, relationship status, gender, mailing address, phone number, email address, password, where you access internet, hours per week on internet, connection speed, date of birth, type of dwelling, education completed, language spoken, employment status, occupation, and record other members of your household. Only one person per household can join. Joining in total should take between 5 to 10 minutes, and they will send an email confirming that you are now a member.
--------The site itself--------
Towards the top of the homepage there is the chance to change the language from English to eight other languages such as French, Italian and Portuguese. Acop.com contains the information you would expect. For example there is a detailed FAQ section and details of their privacy policy. The website says that for those living outside the USA or Canada, a cheque in your own currency will be sent if you have successfully completed paid surveys.
Apparently you can make between $4 and $50 for completed surveys. There is no specific member area on the website, just the opportunity to update or delete your account. Doing the latter seems the better option, as I am about to explain.
--------My experience--------
This is a market research site that unfortunately I cannot recommend others to join. As a member for some 26 months or so, I have never successfully completed a paid to participate in survey (they never send any). My membership as such is completely worthless. The only emails sent seem to either be Happy Birthday or Happy Holidays (i.e. Christmas and New Year) from Vice President, Anne Parks.
Nonetheless some people must have had some success with ACOP since here on dooyoo and other websites, members of the site state how they have received cheques and prizes. It is just a real shame that I have not had similar luck, and accordingly must give the website a very poor rating – if I could it would get 0 out of five stars. If you want to join a survey site then this is not one to bother with.

- 23/08/07 I suppose they mainly send the surveys to Americans, seeing as they mainly want to know about American consumers. |

- 08/11/06 Interesting review, thought you put your point across well and mentioned that others seem to have done better. JPEG |

- 05/11/06 I banked a cheque for £3.00 the other day, not much I know and probably only the second one this year but they do pay when you get to do their surveys. Some surveys are few and far between but I can't say that they are all bad. |
