As a user to this site would most probably notice, USA Today has been quoted as saying that this is "A must see website for every airline passenger." - I'm not quite sure why exactly, because looking at this isn't really going to do anything other than make you nervous.

It's a very complete site which basically catalogues air distasters, as the name would suggest. Details of disasters (there are currently 1448 different incidents listed) are available and are catalogued and searchable. You can hunt through disasters by date, airline/operator and by plane manufacturer. It's very nicely designed and works very well (yet I still question its value, other than maybe, research) and there are stacks of other "useful" features and sections on the site, including: movies (for those macabre moments), eye witness reports, features, reports, investigations, the obligatory photo galleries, discussion boards and other stuff.

If you're interested in picking the airline with the best history etc or doing research into this sort of thing, it maybe a "useful" site, however, other than that it's just a bit weird. Interesting however, and if you're bored, worth a quick shufti.
