Advantages: Free To Join!!, First Of Its Kind!!

Disadvantages: Payout In Dollars - Not As Promised!!, Low Surfbar Rates

I just remembered that I have another update for everyone reading this - I wasn't able to cash my cheque from AllAdvantage!! At last week's exchange rates it worked out at £18.89, but as my building society's policy is so strict, I wasn't able to have it cashed!! I sent a letter to the company complaining about this a while back, however I shall soon be reinforcing this with another letter!! Keep ya posted!!

Thanks to the comments feature here at dooyoo - I've been able to receive a comment from a user who has informed me of something and put me in the know - did you know what most people didn't?? This user tells me that AllAdvantage went about their business selling things things like your IP adress, and many other details without asking you!!

I joined AllAdvantage in July 1999. It was my first paid to surf program (well it would be, they introduced the idea) and I loved the idea.

It was a long, strainful process to make some money but in the end, just before AllAdvantage decided to close down, I had made about £18, which was the minimum payout for UK members.

When I'd joined, it had been their policy to payout in most local currencies instead of US Dollars, and this included UK Pounds. However by the time it came to me cashing out, the company had started to lose profits and they'd realised this, and so they started to change things. Firstly they introduced the Sweepstakes program which set the paid to surf rates way down. Next they changed their policy so that cheques would only be paid in US Dollars.

What did this change mean for me?? It meant that when I received my cheque for $26.85, roughly £18 or £19, I couldn't cash it, and still haven't been able to. My building society (Abbey National) refuses to change cheques in Dollars until the
y reach $50, and even then they charge a fee of £10.

Although I can't really warn you away from them as they're long gone now, I just thought I'd share my experiences!!

This company started off paying you quite a lot per hour, but this slacked off very quickly. I don't bother now... :-)

Yeah, my friend complained about this lot also. What most people didn't know about this company is that it sells things like your IP adress, and many other details without asking you.
