The first things to hit you when you access this site are the colours. Black. Which is a perfect colour for a site about goths. Except the writing is practically black as well. In fact the whole damn site is just so dark it makes it impossible not to get very depressed looking at it. And it ... more |

This is quite a good idea for a site. I saw a link for it and thought that it sounded like fun. What this site does is allow people to send in pictures of themselves and get other people to rate them, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much of a goth they are. I'm not sure whether its just me being over critative or whether the site really is a waste of webspace. The first things to hit you when you access this site are the colours. Black. If, like myself, you find Goths quite amusing, this site will be a veritable laugh-fest as you click your way through hordes of unwitting Goths, lining themselves up for your simple-minded derision. amihotornot.com has been and gone; the idea is passé and even the off-shoot sites - the cute monkeys and so on - are losing their appeal. While there's something undeniably entertaining in rating somebody's face without them knowing - like calling your best friend smelly behind his back - there's only so much laughter to be had in looking at normal people. This is where Am I Goth Or Not? steps in, offering us the chance to mock a bunch of people who would ... Read the complete review

Had enough of looking at the pretty (and not so pretty) people at amihotornot.com? You have? – Right then, come with me to another world, a world of purple and black, a world of black roses, Dracula and dungeons. Ok, so I’m taking the Michael a little (sorry to any Michael’s out there) but I think we need a little giggle every now and again. This site actually has its tongue firmly in its cheek – well I hope so anyway! The idea is simple really, you are presented with a photograph of a male or a female (some of which are a bit ambiguous) and all you have to do is vote between 1 to 10 on how ‘Goth’ they look. Once ... Read the complete review

Well if you thought that the web site amihotornot.com was sad, then you haven’t seen anything yet; this really does take the micky when it comes to pathetic. The idea is pretty simple, and it is based around the idea of amihotornot.com the idea is that you get people submitting pictures of themselves for people to rate, whereas people on amihot rated how hot they thought you were, this site rates you on how gothic people think you look. I don’t really see why people should really care if they look gothic or not, it really shouldn’t matter, I thought that the whole idea of being a ‘goth’ was not going on with the ideals of ... I must state first of all that I find this site incredibly sad. If these people are so insecure that they need to be reassured by a bunch of complete strangers then they need counselling! The idea behind the site is that you put up your photo and people give you a rating out of 10 for how "goth" you look. I find this idea a bit odd. Most of the people I know who have been into the goth scene since the 80's look nothing like these people. Some people would call me a goth as I have a distinct liking for black clothes, PVC, wear an ankh and like the Sisters of Mercy (NOT goth according to Mr Eldritch but there you go). I do not consider myself to ... Read the complete review
